Akshay Kumar’s ‘Gabbar Is Back’ has also done well in its second weekend at the box office. While ‘Piku’, which released on 1300 screens, was the first choice at premium multiplexes, ‘Gabbar Is Back’ continued to do well at smaller centre multiplexes and single-screens.
The 10-day total collections now stands at Rs 72.38 crore and the film should end its second week with net box office collections of around Rs 80 crore.
‘Bombay Velvet’ releases in theatres next week and ‘Piku’ is showing good growth at multiplexes, so ‘Gabbar Is Back’ will only be running on limited screens in Week 3. The film is likely to end its run with business of around 90-95 crore, which would cover the costs of its All-India distributors.
Overall, not quite the money-spinner that the industry has been waiting for, but a decent grosser for Akshay Kumar nonetheless. The distributors of ‘Gabbar Is Back’ and the exhibitors will be fairly happy!

Realy another great movie by Akshay. Hats OFF Akshay sir, back to back quality movies. What is going wrong with Indian young generation, they have money to spent on mindless movies like yjhd , Hny etc. But not for good movies like gabbar , baby. By far movie collections are decent…. But Movie Is Excellent.
Akshaykumar is one of the biggest superstar in bollywood. Bcz he does not wait for holidays of the year to release his movies to take the advantage of holidayes like 3 khans all the time release thier movies to take the advantage of holidays. He is non holidays 100 cror superstar in bollywood .

Only expect bollywoodhungama.com and indicine has coppied the figure from there. anyways , movie has done well overseas so at 90+ cr in india it will b a hit. n all haters stop barking, no actor can give a 100 cr grosser every alternate month. ask ur superstars to do so. they have not been able to handle even 2 movies in a single yr in the past. Hrithik in 2010 n SRK in 2011are examples only…. n forget Aamir , he does one movie in 2 yrs..
Akshay is generating good profit for his producers. only because of that he has so many movies in his hand. also when he does 4-5 movies in a single yr, many people involved in the movies starting form spot boys, singers, music directors, action directors, actors and theatre owners earn money throughout the year. But when other’s movie does 200cr, all these people dont get anything, de only get there remuneration for there work…. So think 1000 times when u say something about akki….its him who has taken 50% of the burden of the industry….
Still dont know how much is spent in making of a movie, apart from the big star’s fees
