Akshay Kumar’s ‘Gabbar Is Back’ has shown tremendous growth in business on Sunday, which has ensured a healthy total of Rs 38.90 crore in its first weekend at the domestic box office.
The fantastic growth on Sunday gives the film more than a decent chance of going on to be the first film to cross the 100 crore mark this year.

Given the fact that ‘Gabbar Is Back’ was competing against a big Marathi film like ‘Time Pass 2’, megastar Kamal Haasan’s ‘Uttama Villain’ in South India and the ongoing IPL matches, the weekend business had the potential to be closer to the 45 crore mark.
The word-of-mouth at smaller centres is excellent and single-screen business is expected to remain steady even after the release of ‘Piku’ and ‘Bombay Velvet’.

OMG!!!! In Myanmar, Yesterday out 10000 DVD copy of Gabbar at that day finished and Today also same 10000 copy out, now i get dvd copy of Gabbar. Only 20000 copy in Yangon. Where masses area(Hindu dominates area, majority Hindu) like Zeyawaddy, Phyu, Taungoo and khakdaga crazy for Salman, Akki, Ajay and still sunil shetty famous may be out 30000 over copy out. I get this news from i always bought showroom of movie.

Today is again a partial holiday in some states so business should hold strongly over there and remain steady in other areas as well..100 crore is looking a possibility and I hope it gets there..let’s see how Piku and Bombay velvet are received.

Baby was nice movie but Baby had many suspense in long story and i did not enjoyed the climax scene which i expected a lot from Akshay Sir.
I am Akshay Kumar huge fan, i shared my reviews about Gabbar Is Back i liked Gabbar Is Back more than Baby Holiday and Rowdy Rathore, i am not saying that Baby and Holiday was not good both was fantastic movies but being a Akki fans and Akki’s last releases i enjoyed Gabbar Is Back more than others.

As per koimoi.com the weekend collection is 40 cr. Monday reports are good too as per addatoday. may collect 8.5 – 9.5 cr today. Lifetime will be 100-105 cr
Great … Akki is back. Undoubtely a most busy star in the bollywood. Baby was great and now the good response to gabbar is back showing this movie also has good content. I will watch it soon. Thanks to Akki for entertaining India.

At an average of 80 to 90 crore per film, this guys is giving around 300 crs every year.
Just imagine if he does one movie per year, on an Eid or Diwali or Xmas, with good promotions, i can bet that he can churn out 200 + crore movie every year.
Whoever is criticising should understand this and then comment.
Now, if we compare this to Hro and Ranbir, when was the last time they gave a 200 cr movie? Hro gave it 2 years back with a famous franchise film, made by his dad, and released in record number of screens during the biggest festival season.
Except Salman, when was the last time an actor gave back to back 100 crore in one year?
Give Akshay Dhoom 4, on any of the festival holidays, and i guarantee it will cross 300 cr., a feat only achieved by Aamir, and can only be matched by Salman in future.
No other actor can do this in the current scenario. period.

Fantastic collections on Sunday, the growth shows people liked the movie.
As per BOI the Sunday had given chance to Gabbar for becoming hit if it trended well.So finally after Badlapur and DLKH we can see 3rd hit of the year and first 100cr grosser.
Let’s see how Tuesday fairs.
@JC not agree with you Akki could not give a 200cr grosser despite he has single release because of the kind of movies he does, yes with dhoom 4 he will definitely cross 250-300cr.Akki had a great chance to be very huge actor like khans till SIK but with craps after craps he ruined.
Even if we see Akki 100cr grosser none is the fresh film.House full 2 was a sequal and RR,Holiday was a remake and even if GiB is 100 cr grosser, its again a remake.
A solo festive release can be provided if someone performed exceptionally well on holidays.

Ramukaka loved GIB. Akshay was superb in the movie but Shruti was wasted.

Some ppz compare Akshay with khans and roshan and kapoor first of all when khans movies really releases on big occasion like Diwali Eid and Chritmas so what you expect. The last movie of akshay was released on diwali was tees maar khan and check the weekend collection of that movie it was bumper opner when movie was shit.. so khans kapoors and roshans have no guts too release theire movies during IPL and movies with big hollywood movies.
Banal predictable movie. Already sick of these films … Akshay is not interesting or as an actor or as a man …
