Akshay Kumar’s ‘Gabbar Is Back’ has shown tremendous growth in business on Sunday, which has ensured a healthy total of Rs 38.90 crore in its first weekend at the domestic box office.
The fantastic growth on Sunday gives the film more than a decent chance of going on to be the first film to cross the 100 crore mark this year.

Given the fact that ‘Gabbar Is Back’ was competing against a big Marathi film like ‘Time Pass 2’, megastar Kamal Haasan’s ‘Uttama Villain’ in South India and the ongoing IPL matches, the weekend business had the potential to be closer to the 45 crore mark.
The word-of-mouth at smaller centres is excellent and single-screen business is expected to remain steady even after the release of ‘Piku’ and ‘Bombay Velvet’.

I watched Gabbar Is Back and truly i enjoyed very well the movie, awesome story fantastic dialogue delivery smashing action sequences.
Better than Holiday better than Baby and better than Rowdy Rathore movie deserves to be in 100 crore club.
Akshay Sir proved that he is the BAAP of Mass entertainer Masala movies, i forgot other masala movies after Gabbar Is Back.
Great collections… Gabbar collected 13lakh in chennai city with 54shows..while kamal Hassan’s uttama villain was huge hit…
Basically i am from Karachi, Pakistan and i want to tell that here in Karachi Friday Saturday Sunday all three days was packed and Housfull in Multiplexes also i found the tickets after facing many difficulties.

Becoz no competitin…as all films piku tiku…. Bombay vovlet ..lokks totally crap 3rd class bullshit …!..
2) Piku .. 25cr… No buzz… Rejected trailer n songs…..

Pathetic trailer…. Even more crap 2nd trailer…. Film looks like garbage under name of class…..

VERDICT : HIT
But I think 100 crore is very difficult .
Like I Said in my Earlier Post @Indicine you will be wrong for the first time Predicting that Gabbar will Just Collect 89Crs……Because when i came out of the theatre there wasnt even a single person who dint like what he had just seen…..Tremendous WOM plus Today is A Holiday in various parts of Northern India….A 7cR TOTAL will ensure Gabbar’s Hit Status….

The collections on Sunday are very good . The jump on Sunday has given a big chance for Gabbar Is Back to collect 100 CR . This can be Akshay’s 4th 100 CR Grosser . @ F T K Nice to see that you are happy . It is great to know GIB doing tremendous business in Pakistan . I just want to tell you that you can compare Rowdy Rathore and Gabbar Is Back because both are Masala movies but you cannot compare it with Holiday and Baby because they where thrillers . Undoubtedly GIB is better than Rowdy Rathore . It is an entertaining movie with a good social message . Masala movies should be made in such a way . The 2nd Half was very good, Akshay was brilliant and Action sequences were good and not very OTT( Over The Top) . Shruti Hasan was ok and Villain should have been more powerful . Overall a good entertaining movie but Baby is still the Best Movie of 2015 for me .
Salman’s Jai Ho had opening weekend of 60 crores. It was non holiday release and had very low promotion and no popular songs. Gabbar weekend is just 39 crore. What excuses will chakki fans give now.

Sad to see Amjad Khans iconic Gabbar being grossly misused in such a farcical manner- so much potential to make Gabbar (movie) a Ghanini type movie with larger than life villain but they went down a different path n ultimately failed.
