Farhan Akhtar says scrapping of 500/1000 currency won’t affect ‘Rock On 2’

The first release after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to demonetise 500 and 1000 rupee currency notes is ‘Rock On 2’. There are concerns within the industry and trade that film business could be affected by the decision to scrap high-value notes.

However, lead actor and producer Farhan Akhtar has said, it won’t impact the business of his film. He also added that once the audience decide to watch a film, nothing can stop them from doing so.

“It’s not about how much you market your film. If intense marketing helped sell a film to the audience, every film would be a hit. I feel the public makes up its mind whether it wants to see a film or not early in the process of a film’s marketing. If they’ve decided they want to see a film, nothing can stop them,” he said.

Co-producer Ritesh Sidhwani said, the film will release as previously scheduled on 11th November (tomorrow).

“We are releasing on schedule this Friday.”

PVR Cinemas has decided not to charge convenience fee on usage of a debit or credit card for purchase of tickets for ‘Rock On 2’. PayTM has also come up with a new offer of ‘buy one get one ticket free’.
