FAN had a decent first weekend at the box office, collecting Rs 52.35 crore in 3 days. While the weekend numbers are good, the problem for the film is the trend. When the Friday collections are higher than the Sunday total, it an indication that the word-of-mouth for the film is mixed to negative.
For example, Singh Is Bling which released on a big National Holiday (Gandhi Jayanti) last year collected Rs 20.67 crore on its opening day and Rs 19.27 crore on Sunday. The drop from Friday to Sunday was 7%.
FAN, which released on a partial holiday for Ram Navami, collected Rs 19.2 crore on Friday and Rs 17.75 crore on Sunday. The drop, even though it was coming from a half holiday, was around 8%.
While Singh Is Bling had a much better trend than FAN, the film did not sustain in the long run.
These are ominous signs for the Shah Rukh Khan starrer, because while business has come crashing down at mass centres, the growth at multiplexes has been limited.
The fate of FAN is dependent on a strong hold on Monday. It also has to sustain well on Tuesday and the remaining days of its first week.

After Fan if u compare acting wise srk is principal,amir is professor while salman is still trying to get admission in the same school…
I want srk to do villian in every upcomming movies…..bcoz I am his fan due to his role in darr, bazzigar and anjaam…..not due to his role in ddlj kkhh or so…..sincerely speaking……

Feel bad for SRK but hope he comes back with Raess everyone goes through a bad phase but SRK’s bad phase is comparable to many actors best phase. SRK will come back with a bang.

To be honest, die hard SRK fans can keep on making noise about the acting of SRK and the quality of the movie and blah blah….but the truth of the matter is general public has discarded the movie and it is a fact. if the movie was so special as the SRK fans are claiming it is…then the general public would have made FAN a big hit IRRESPECTIVE OF IPL, JUNGLEBOOK & NORMAL WEEKEND RELEASE. Airlift and Neerja are there as case studies.
Now everyone is blaming IPL, Junglebook and normal weekend release as the reason for the debacle…!! Really SRK fans…?? You guys think these factors can affect a movie that has an actor like SRK in the lead and released in 3600 screens?
So why Jungle Book is not affected by IPL and FAN? Coz it found universal appreciation across the country whereas FAN only found appreciation among die hard SRK fans and paid critics.

People are saying its a good film.. But I don’t think so . It was so boring that the person next to me in the theatr was sleeping. Apart from SRK’s brilliant performance there is nothing worth praising….. Movie has 0 entertainment value.. don’t think it can cross 90crs let alone 100.
