The box office collections and trends of Shah Rukh Khan’s FAN is similar to Akshay Kumar’s Brothers which released in theatres during the ‘Independence Day’ weekend last year.
Both films took a similar opening (after negating the partial holiday advantage for FAN), similar weekend (Brothers benefitting because of the big national holiday on Saturday) and both will finish with similar lifetime totals – with FAN showing slightly better trends, which would help it to collect about 2-3 crore more than Brothers.
At the end of Week 1 – Brothers had collected Rs 72.52 crore, while FAN has accumulated Rs 71.5 crore.
At the end of 10 days (2nd weekend) – Brothers had collected Rs 78.62 crore, while FAN has edged ahead with Rs 79.25 crore net box office collections.
As far as the business economics of the two films are concerned, FAN is the more expensive film. At the overseas box office, the SRK starrer has performed better.

Stop giving lame excuses.
Nobody stops Hrithik and Akki to release their movies on EDX. Tell them to release their movies on EDX if they have guts.
And don’t forget it’s Bhai who makes Eid a lucrative period (even post IPL period to some extent).
If hrithik and Akki are are such a huge Megastar as you are pretending then tell them to make some more lucrative periods just like Salman.
Raees should be released on the same day which they fixed. We srkian will show the real aukaat of Salman khan.

Sultan will be finished in a month’s time and a lot of time remains for post-production works! It is not a super hero film that will consume a lot of time for VFX.

RAEES is 99.99% releasing on July 3rd pre-EID.
The Director and the Crew have practically worn the t-shirt saying “EID.” No producer or director has said RAEES is postponed. It has been a vicious propoganda against SRK to somehow postpone it so that SULTAN can have a clean open run even if reviews fall way way short of BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN & it looks like they will form the initial reports.
RAEES once finished with Post-Production in next 2 weeks cannot afford to be sitting in the cans. Postponding will hurt a film like RAEES more than preponding. Neutral public loose interest. Fans loose interest. Besides, 2nd half of 2016 is completely booked. Audience no longer like to wait for the films they want to see. If RAEES has EID subject, It must release before SULTAN and thankfully it will once trailer will be out in a month.
A hard hitting “shakaal” movie with 5 songs and 1 “laila O laila” item number is enough to compete with SULTAN’s wrestling which will turn off 50% of the female audiences after initial reviews. Nawaz is another plus factor for RAEES to enhance movie chemistry.
RAEES in EID even with clash will collect 175+ Cr. If reviews are better than SULTAN, it will cross 200 Cr eating into SULTANs net profit.
RAEES post poned will collect 115 -120 Cr. As audiences will hold out for RUSTOM, MOHANJO DARO, SHIVVAY, DANGAL and many more.
RAEES teaser is literally 1 yr old unlike SULTAN and is now stale and old. It must release week ahead of SULTAN to give 40-50 Cr opening day on sunday with crazy publicity by SRK during whole Ramzan.
Prepone it, RAEES wins the battle. Atleast 1 family member who drinks will go and see it.
Postpone it, RAEES is guanrateed to loose the battle as all family member have already spend money on SULTAN.
Be very afraid of fans fatigue, boxoffice drying up, even the best reviewed movies can struggle just because of shifting of the dates.
