Everything is not just for box office: Emraan Hashmi

Bollywood star Emraan Hashmi, who was recently seen in ‘Azhar’, has said that he doesn’t do every film looking at it’s box office prospects.

After featuring in several successful erotic thrillers,  Emraan went on to do films like ‘Shanghai’ and ‘Ghanchakkar’ which did not do well at the box office.

“Actors always test themselves with something new and try to do something new… Something that they have not done before. It is one thing to do it to keep your kitchen running and another thing to be satisfied, pat yourself on the back and say that you have done something challenging, coming out of your comfort zone,” Emraan said.

“An actor has to be always up for that. Everything is not just about box office, sometimes you have got to do these small films where your role is performance driven. Like I did ‘Shanghai’. It was like really testing my limits” Emraan added.

His latest release ‘Azhar’ hasn’t done as well as it was expected to at the domestic box office.

  • Ek thi dayaan was a really good film. The only disappointment was its climax.

Anyways it’s nice on Emraan’s part to experiment with different genres even though they haven’t done much unlike other superstars who had mastered the concept of copy and paste regular masala flicks and kept on doing the same thing until 2015.

  • It’s so funny that every actor who is going through bad phase would never accept their failure…give lecture on that not every movie is meant for money but same actor will celebrate even their bad movie after entering 100cr club…pathetic

  • Completely agree with everything he has said. If you are not enjoying your work in any profession, then it’s not worth it.

  • “Everything is not just about Box Office” ….LOL

Now this become a favorite line of every Flop actors….those actors who did not do well in Box Office use this line in interview to hide their failure….LOL

  • “Everything is not just about Box Office” ….LOL

Now this become a favorite line of every Flop actors….those actors who did not do well in Box Office use this line in interview to hide their failure…no matter whether it’s Srk or Emraan…

  • @ Challaa

Ur idol is the one who copy & paste script from Hollywood movies UNOFFICIALLY so…

  • Of course it was not done for box office. Bhatts have the habit of portraying a criminal as a victim and trying to get some public sympathy for a criminal.
Azhar was just one such criminal who tried to gain sympathy through this movie.
Azhar betrayed Indian fans. We are not going to forgive him for that.

  • No doubts about that but as you are experimenting try and have at least 50% success rate ….esp for a talented actor like Eemran.

True but Eemran has to really bring back the Eemran we knew of…ouatim jaanat

  • D films i like of emraan hasnt been success at d box office…. I lkd ghanchakkar,ek thi dayan, shanghai( i m fan of dibakar)…

Out of his box officr hits..d top film for me is ouatim…..hvnt seen jannat etc

  • Sorry Emraan , but your movies are not even great in content . These type of words suit more on Irrfan Khan who does great movies with great acting due to his love for cinema and acting and not for earning huge chunk of money at the box office .

  • At least you should watch the movie before judging Azhar!!!
That is why it was made, because none of you are listening to his side of the story!!
    You really are ignorant
    You are intolerant!!!

  • @Challa and then his dog SRK followed him and always failed miserably all the time..
