Even if 4 other films released, I’d still release Dilwale on December 18: SRK

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has said that he would release Dilwale on December 18th, even if 4 other films released on the same date.

In an interview to promote the film, SRK said he has nothing against Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who releases his film Bajirao Mastani on the same day.

“No, we are all friends. We have done films together (Devdas). It just so happens. There are 52 films, 200 films. Someone is going to release on the same day. It is unfortunate that this has happened”

“We are very clear that this film (Dilwale) is designed for Christmas. It’s a happy-go-lucky family film, this is the mood of the year when everybody wants to enjoy and have festivities. And I’m sure Bajirao Mastani being a historical has its own space for the audience, but this was the period (for Dilwale)”

“I would not change it (release date) for anything in the world. Except if we hadn’t completed the film. I say this as a producer and distributor.. for the first time, my company is distributing a film, we are taking a very big step of turning into a semi-studio model”

“18th December was the date for my team, for me and it’s a film that’s meant for 18th December, meant for Christmas. It was supposed to come on this date. If four other films had come with Dilwale, it would still be 18th of December”

“I wish Bajirao the best and I wish us also great success. But there is no feud (with Team Bajirao), there is no problem”

  • unfortunately the big problem is Srk is not as big star and as popular as global megastar aamir khan so we cant expect a blockbuster. Even local star Salman is also much more popular and bigger than him. So my bet for dilwale is only 155 Cr in India and 270 Cr worldwide.

  • No matter, The sensibility Shahrukh and Big B got is extraordinary. Self made ordinary looking people became legends. Leaving the harsh debates on intolerance/tolerance aside, These people made few memorable motivational quotes which will live forever.. Sorry for going offtopic. Just thought to say that. Hope Dilwaale rock. From Bhai fan

  • I dont understand why you Indian hate SRK so much. He is only in a race to make your country so proud by taking India to the world but you guys always pull off his legs. You haters should be ashamed of yourselves to blame a true patriotic Indian. He is a global megastar so try not disrespect him if you can’t respect him.

  • @indicine comment 7.36 is not mine! Pls verify. Don’t know who is now using my identity to post this comment. Suspecting someone . Am an Ajay fan but acknowledge Shah rukh to be a great celebrity but I won’t go so far to post that last line. Thank you

That means , single screens are free to screen Dilwale , and can allot maximum no. of shows to Dilwale …!

Cheap tactics of SLB and Eros have failed finally …!

  • SRK: Mere wumr ke aamir aur salman 300 cr se wuper khel rahe hain. Mujhse chota hritik ka bhi highest collection mujhse jaada hai. Ish baar bhi 200 cr duuuur dikhai de rahi hai. Ka,ka,ka,ka …kiran, mera din kab aayega!! :-(
    Too much fun ;-)

  • Indian audience always love masala movies instead historical/serious movies. I believe that Dilwale will get Bumper Opening and BM also get reasonable opening, but Dilwale will be winner with a fair distance in terms of box office earning. Majority of people will watch Dilwale first for Happiness, Joy and off-course for King Khan.

  • OMG…………..
Gulfnews gave 3.5 to DILWALE & says its a very well designed romance with full on comedy & spectacular action with good performance by all.A perfect family entertainer

Gulfnews gave 2.5 to BM & says its a visual treat with good performance by all but confusing storyline & boing in parts.
Critic confuse that is it romance or historical war film.

Average 3 stars is perfect for any action comedy film because many critics did not like this type films.
But for a historical biopic or romance film & little appealing film always need very strong reviews atleast average 3.5 to 4.5

  • In 2012 they yrf(jthj) are lured ett to exbhitors got more screens for jthj and deprived sos(eros) of single screens.now eros doing the very thing with bajrangi and bajirao. fair enough.

  • You can love or hate srk but u can never ignore srk. He is born to rule the world.
    My prediction for Dilwale is
