Emraan Hashmi went all out to praise his cousin sister Alia Bhatt for her performance in Imtiaz Ali’s Highway and also said that he only recently watched her debut film ‘Student Of The Year’.
“She was phenomenal in Highway. I’m extremely proud of Alia and the way she has conducted herself” Hashmi was quoted as saying by DNA India.
Emraan also added that he wasn’t “half as good” in his debut film ‘Footpath’ which released in 2003.

“Alia was annoyed with me for the longest time for not having watched her debut film Student Of The Year. It was only when I got a DVD and saw the film that she started talking to me. I later called her up to congratulate her and told her that she was miles ahead of me. I wasn’t half as good as she was in my debut film”
Asked if they two will work in a film together, Hashmi said “A brother and sister playing a romantic lead is not really possible. It would be downright weird.”
Hahahaha he always thinks of romance. can’t she play his sister’s role in a movie ???
Alia is excelling and Emmi of late is stagnating….. Hope his fortune turns around soon
