Now that Salman Khan’s ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ has completed a record-breaking first week at the box office, it’s time to compare the collections of Eid releases in the last 4 years.
On Eid, a new record has been set every year. In 2012, Ek Tha Tiger broke the record of Bodyguard and got very close to becoming the highest grosser of all time, falling short by just 3 crore. In 2013, Shahrukh Khan conquered the box office by not only breaking the previous Eid records, but delivered the industry’s highest grosser of all time when Chennai Express successfully broke the 4-year-old record of 3 Idiots.
In 2014, Salman’s Kick surpassed Chennai Express by a small margin. This year, Salman has conquered the box office yet again, smashing the records of all previous films. ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ has already gone past the worldwide gross of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ and will eventually beat both ‘Chennai Express’ and ‘Kick’.
The only Eid record that the Salman Khan starrer might find difficult to beat, is the 120 crore overseas collections of ‘Chennai Express’. Even that is not out of reach, as Bajrangi Bhaijaan has collected Rs 84 crore in Week 1 at the overseas box office.

collection is about holidays nt free open weeks.mainly 75% colection comes from 1st week.huge money comes from multiplexes where ce runs for 4-5 weeks.2nd week mein agar screens 3000 hota toh kya collection bhi 1st week ki tarah 150cr hota.jitne baki logo ko film dekhna hai woh dekhenge screen 3700 ho ya 1900.
by that logic hny earned 150cr after 1st week in 4000 screens.why hny score only 15-20cr in 2nd week in 4000 screens.screen size to same thi na?
for bb eid is on sat n sunday means 20cr less collection .agar eid falls on mon or friday then 1st week 200cr plus hota.
Undoubtly ce is clear winner two years back with intense compition

but for hny 1st day-37.67cr

And in all this mayhem , Salman khan will most probably become the 1st superstar at the BO to collect 500+ crores net in India (BB – 290-330+ crores expected & PRDP – 210+ crores minimum) in a single year & about 900+ crores gross worldwide (BB – 500+ crores expected & PRDP – 400+ in normal circumstances ) and if PRDP turns out to be another MPK or HAHK & as good as BB then even 600+ crores India combined net & 1000+ crores combined worldwide gross in a year is very much possible, now that is some achievement!
Only aamir can break this records if he releases 2 movies in a single year which is unlike aamir! so a 50-50 chance!
Hrithik can also break those records but with 3-4 releases in a single year, which is again highly unlikely! just a 30% chance
Srk can also break it but again 3-4 movies releasing on holidays with deepika & rohit, big production houses & with relentless ott promotions would be just too much for our nautanki queen , so unlikely again! so just 20% chance
Well coming to akki (no disrespect to him as I also like him but especially bcos of his irritating fan sunny leone chachi) around 7-10 movies in an year could do the trick but even for the ever greedy, ever money hungry akki doing 7-10 movies in a year is just asking for too much , so highly unlikely, almost next to impossible for akki! 5% chance

if any other movie released one week after hny then srk fans should said hny has only 7 free days if no film released then hny should have done 300cr .but fact is that by the clash the big banner movie get benefitted by controvosy n promotion which helped ce in a big way.

Exhibitors always give more sreens to big stars. Srk movies get more screens than arjun japur movies due more star power than arjun kapur. In the same way Bhai movies get more screens than srk movies because Bhai is way bigger star than srk.
