After a historic first day at the box office, all eyes were on second day collections of Ek Tha Tiger. Since a drop was pretty much expected, as Thursday was a working day – the big question was – by how much?
Well, the collections have dropped by around 50%, which is similar to Agneepath. The morning shows were down by 55-60%, but the night shows recorded better collections.
The all-India early estimate for the second day is around 15 crores nett. Friday collections are expected to be similar, as it’s a working day once again.
The three crucial days will be Saturday – Sunday – Monday. If the film picks up slightly on Saturday and then manages to put up big numbers on the following two days (both holidays), Ek Tha Tiger could get close or even beat the lifetime business of films like Agneepath, Rowdy Rathore, Housefull 2, in the first 6 days itself!

If ett release on non holiday it gone to be a big flop. 40 crore budget rowdy rathore second day collection is 15 crore in 2700 screens, but 110 crore budget ett only collect 16 crore in 3200 screens. single screen collections dull,but rowdy rathore is all time blockbuster in single screens. verdict – akshay is far better than khans, he is the superstar after bachchan.
the movie is better than any movie in 2012 till now.salman rock in this movie & always..
aamir khan’s 3 idiots is an epic movie……………to break 3 idiots record the following things are mandatory:
1.Movies must star salman khan, srk(with good script and higher promotion), hrithik(rare chance),
2.director must be raju hirani…
3.3 idiots sequel or aamir khan starrer any movies sequel
4.script should be 100% great
1st 3 days will b cls to 60cr..den saturday, sunday,monday shud allow minimum 60cr..so 1st 6 day shud be 120cr+….i think.
Only thing,i think it cant break 3 idiots record is lack of repeat value,but it can still happen..3 idiots is masterpiece,movie which will break its record should be classy

3 idiots make record 202 crore in india because of it’s repeat value film.. Most audience watch it 2-3 times ETT not a repeat value film then can’t possible it’s break for 3 idiots record true fact.
Bodyguard is an avrage movie when i watch it yawn in theater realy. It’s blockbuster because of salman star power and EID Holidays releasing.
Singham is 10 time best than bodyguard.
Will ETT gross 150 or 165 crores in the first week as some die hard Salman Khan fans told before the release of the film?
@Subin, 150-160 crore is life time collections for EK THA TIGER.
50% drop is not alarming at all, as it happened with Agneepath too. But ETT may not cross above 180 crore. Agneepath was released in 2600 theaters while ETT has been released in 3300 theaters so breaking record of Agneepath is normal. Rest of the days will depend on Salman’s star power and positive or negative word of mouth. There are mixed response everywhere so the film may even face a huge crash at the box office but before such thing happen, it may collect 170/180 crore by that time.

@mahesh,if you watch tamil or malayalam version of bodyguard,vijay and dileep acted far far better than salman.bodyguard collect would collect 175 crore if the hero is akshay,he looks charm than khans.rowdy rathore not a flop indias biggest non holiday hit,if rowdy rathore relise in eid it defnitly cross 170 crore.

Any movie to break this historic record, will have to be released in atleast 3500+ screens across india alone, with an occupancy of atleast 90% and salman is the biggest crowd puller in bollywood . Dabaang 2, sherkhan, kick would be keenly contesting, and D 2 (40 crores+) may break this record, only to set an another historic record which perhaps dhoom 3(43 c+) may break, but again that record too will be broken by salman in the future and just 1 “once-in-a-lifetime” kind of movie is what it takes for salman to shatter every type of record in bollywood. He is the record machine, he breaks existing records to create new records and again breaks them all; so it continues.
