Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam releases in theatres today (previews shows at multiplexes) and the film isn’t carrying much buzz, apart from the pre-release reports which are terrific.
The film will rely on word-of-mouth publicity to recover costs and the growth in business on Saturday and Sunday will be important for the Nishikant Kamat directed remake. Even though the clash between Drishyam and Bangistaan has been averted, the Ajay Devgn film will be competing against Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
The Salman Khan starrer will provide tough competition, due to the fact that it’s carrying excellent word-of-mouth. In fact, the trade expects the 3rd Friday collections of the film to be about the same level as the opening day of ‘Drishyam’

@ indicine i would like to enlighten you guys about the false understanding of who is the biggest star in india and in overseas…. whoever is the biggest star in india and in south asian countries is the biggest star in overseas too….because the hindi movie watching people are none other than those people from south asia living in overseas…. no white people nor chinese nor african watch hindi movies….. the collection differs in overseas becoz of few factors 1. they are very busy overseas so they tend to go to cinema hall only if the movie is from big banner and if they read positive reviews of the movie..2. aamir khan movie opens big there becoz of the trust factor already established among them like all other south asian people..3. srk movie used to do well overseas becoz of bigger banner movies and srk used to play a clever game ie. always releasing movies during festive period and during festive period people tend to go to cinema halls irrespective of the movie and actor. 3. salman khan movie used to open poorly overseas becoz of less known banner new directors and the timing used to be random, not well planned and well publicised……this does not make aamir khan biggest star and salman khan the smallest…. awareness factor is always there….. its same like in india…. anyway they watch it at home normally….. what i want to say is one actor who is smaller in the local region can never be the biggest star overseas becoz the movie goers are all from the same sub continent there too…. the biggest star in india is always the biggest star in overseas too…. the collection factor in overseas does not reflect the true picture of stardom of the hindi movie stars….. the khan trios are in the same class as in india… the difference makes in collection by other external factors not by being superior or inferior…. get acknowledged everybody. thank you.
Dhrishyam is a strong film and i hope, and feel that it would do well.
Mohanlal was brilliant in the original Malayalam version, and Ajay should do justice to it.

the release of Drishyam which is releasing in 2365 screens creating a shortage for Bajrangi Bhaijaan which is now only in around 1200 screens in India.Bajrangi Bhaijaan has however been creating lot of records in each circuits which is why it will get an All Time Blockbuster tag

Same question for you “what was your king before working with Rohit shetty???” King’s only blockbuster (CE) in last 8years was the Vardaan of Rohit shetty. Before working with Rohit the king was struggling to give even 100cr grossers (eg- jthj, don2 etc).
