Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has said he hasn’t thought about going abroad and working in an international film, because he feels he isn’t “good enough”. The actor has also said he is way too “patriotic” to look for work elsewhere – adding that he respects actors who make a mark internationally.
“I have not looked elsewhere. I don’t think I’m good enough. I’m a patriotic person. I’ve always wanted to do something great for Indian cinema, but not as an actor; that is not greatness. I wanted to work something out, where Indian cinema would gain from what I’ve done, like VFX etc”
What does he think of actors like Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone, who are making a mark globally?
“I don’t want to belittle any actor who’s worked in the US. I think they are all fantastic. You expose a lot of your inner fears when you go to an alien land, and achieve something. Whether it is a big or a small role”
Talking about himself, SRK said ”In a strange, self-important and self-obsessed way, I feel that I represent India. If I work in an international film, then it has to have some kind of importance, not only for me, but also for the country that has made me the star that I am”
However, the actor still dreams of making an Indian film that will be loved globally – even if that means he doesn’t act in it.
“I feel that even at this stage of my career, I may become part of a film, which may be loved internationally, but is made in India. It would be something like a Life Is Beautiful (1997). I may not act in it, but I want to make a film like that”
I just don’t get it. What’s wrong with this man now. First he cannot even give a single hit in 2 and half year now but look at him talking as if Hollywood will be waiting for him or they are not aware he is a gone man. He wants to make a big film best film when even his acting is questionable now. What contribution is he talking about just bragging with his Vfx that is dead and buried. Look even his Dilwale project had to rely 50% on Flop Devgn Vfx especially the action scenes. Even floppy Devgan Vfx is beating it as not only did it partake in Dilwale it even handled the 3D for Tamasha PRDP and Bajirao mastani. So he has contributed nothing and stop bragging about vfx. Red chilles is gone and buried.
Srk…please do something good in bollywood first!!

Look at this “Salman Fan” who’s saying SRK is a non-actor. He must be tired of hearing his idol is a ‘non-actor’ and ‘chor’ so he is applying the same words for SRK. First ask your Lallu to learn minimum acting since he can’t even win the most insignificant of awards, let alone talking about major awards. No one knows Lallu overseas whereas SRK is a rage overseas. He has almost 25 blockbusters overseas. If anyone from bollywood is truly eligible for doing a leading important role in hollywood he’s one and only SRK.
@sss do u know footfall of those 25 overseas blockbuster movies. 15-25 lakhs. Slow claps. Only elite highly intelligent srk fans think that he represents india globally just cos some of dharma n yrf movies whi he was part of had 25 lakh overseas people watch his over dramatic shitty love stories..
@sush- whoever your idol is sure didn’t even earn 1% of what SRK films earned overseas. And saying his romantic movies are shitty and over dramatic, those movies earned all the accolades in India, winning awards from filmfare to National Awards and has become the cult classics for the next generation and have given yrf and dharma the position they hold today. Perhaps your star can’t act in romantic movies with the intensity with which SRK can or perhaps you have big disappointment in love life so you have to say those movies are shitty. Grapes are always always sour. No genre has as much longevity as romantic genre has and SRK is the king of that genre.
