Last Friday, when Don 2 released worldwide in 41 countries – film critics thrashed the film, the trade pundits predicted doom after the euphoric initial weekend – but, it’s Shahrukh Khan and Farhan Akhtar who are laughing all the way to the bank.
Not only has Don 2 done fantastic business over it’s 3 day weekend, the film has continued it’s good run during the weekdays. On Monday, with a drop of less than 50% compared to Friday, the verdict is clear – Don 2 has received tremendous appreciation from the classes (multiplex audience) and is set for a long run at the box-office.
Unlike SRK’s last release Ra One, the strong word-of-mouth has resulted in good collections on Tuesday and Wednesday. The total so far is around 67 crores including revenue earned from dubbed regional versions. With one day remaining (Thursday), Don 2 is likely to end it’s first week with a 72 crore all India nett.
Like we have always been saying, we expect the trending to be similar to Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. The drops are likely to be a little higher with Don 2, as both the release (print-count) and the number of people who watched it in the first weekend, were much higher than ZNMD.
Don 2 verdict – HIT. Should cross 100 crores in 12 days and end with lifetime collections of 115 crores. Could have been more without Players, which belongs to a similar genre.

Eventhough Aamir khan and Salman khan was there since SRK was in bollywood or even before him…but they never made any impression in the hearts of billions of people around the world, until Aamir khan starting with Ghajini and Salman khan with Wanted movies respectively. Infact Salman khan’s and another toilet comedian ‘Akshay kumar’s movie -Jaaneman bombed at boxoffice by releasing on the same day of SRK’s DON movie!!!. SRK’s power is greater than both Salman khan +Akshay kumar.
What else proof you require??. We all know all of Salman khan’s previous movies since Wanted are flops…where were those Salman khan fans hiding? The flopped movies are Jaaneman, Main aur mrs khanna, God tussi great ho, Marie gold, yuvaraj,Veer and list continues………..

I think don2 is an international movie.the best of this kind ever in indian films. SRK looks stunning,and his performance is really great.He again proves that he is one of the best actors in the world.But the problem with don2 is that it is made for multiplexes and cities. It is not enough digestable for rural areas…SRK rocks. Don2 verdict-blockbuster.

DON2 1st weekend collection- 74 crores (including dubbed versions)
There still lies a probability that DON2 (Hindi version) will not cross the 100 crore mark because it is only running in the multiplexes which is already in the higher side or rather in saturation stage. DON2 second weekend will finish much lower and adding another 30 crore is tough. E.g- ZNMD had gr8 collections in the multiplexes whereas Singham was rulling in the B and C grade centres (single screens), result was Singham touched 100 crore mark while ZNMD ended at 92 crore. I believe if a movie is doing well in multiplexes that doesn’t guarantee 100 crores unless single screens are adding to the total.
SRK is the soul of DON2 but guys single screens in the heartland of India still rules the overall boxoffice collections. Lifetime business of DON2 (hindi versions) will be around 94 crores.
