Dilwale, Bajirao Mastani 4th Day Box Office Collection Update

Like we mentioned in the update at 7PM in the evening (read), Dilwale has shown a drop of around 50% from Friday. Estimates suggest, the Shah Rukh Khan film has collected around Rs 10 – 11 crore on Monday.

While the drop is a little higher than expected, more so when compared to the other film that has held very strong, most big films show similar drops. Salman Khan’s Kick last year collected Rs 26.52 crore on Friday and Rs 14.41 crore on Monday – the percentage of drop was 46%. Happy New Year also had a similar 52% drop on Monday from its first non-holiday (Saturday).

In short, neither has Dilwale held strongly on its first weekday, nor has it crashed at the box office. The film now has a challenging task of not only remaining steady over the weekdays, but also fighting off competition from Bajirao Mastani.

Which bring us to the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film. The hold is phenomenal, Bajirao Mastani has passed the Monday test with flying colours. Two things are certain now; one, Bajirao Mastani will cross the 100 crore mark in the domestic market and two, the film will recover its costs as the overseas business is very good too.

This, in itself, is a big win for the Bajirao Mastani team, because not many in the trade gave the film a chance prior to release.

Early estimates suggest, Bajirao Mastani has also collected somewhere in the 10 crore region. The film has crossed the 50 crore mark in 4 days, taking the total to somewhere around the 56 crore mark.

Check out the table below, it’s a day wise comparison between the two films. The fourth column is the day-wise difference, if Dilwale is ahead it will be highlighted in red and if Bajirao Mastani is leading, it will be highlighted in blue.

The story so far – the weekend belonged to Dilwale, it remains to be seen which film will hold better during the weekdays. Currently, it’s advantage Bajirao Mastani. The trend is outstanding and an excellent trend is always better than an excellent opening.

  • @mera ghulam:
According to all (including #indicine) PRDP opening day occupancy was 85-90%. Where have you found it 75%??? Paglapur, bakrapur???

PRDP ticket price is same with Bajirao mastani & varunwale. Also it’s opening day occupancy was same with Bajirao mastani & varunwale’s Sunday. Screen count was around 4500-4600, 400-500 less than combined screen count of Bajirao mastani & Dilwale. That’s why PRDP opening day collections was 40cr, which is 2-3cr less than Bajirao mastani+ dilwale’s Sunday collections.

  • @Chuhe The real “Jack” 02:13 pm :
PRDP screen count was 4500 :

    http://www.indicine.com/movies/bollywood/prdp-box-office-collections-on-day-1

    Average occupancy was 80-85% :

    http://www.indicine.com/movies/bollywood/prem-ratan-dhan-payo-box-office-opening/

Opening day collection was same as combine collections of Dilwale and BM i.e. 42 cr :

    http://www.indicine.com/movies/bollywood/prem-ratan-dhan-payo-records-2nd-highest-opening-day-of-all-time

So, an easy mathematical question is, with less occupancy and 500 less screens and with same ticket price, how PRDP managed to put 42 cr?
    Was the figure manipulated?

I seriously feel pity for you. How many times should I expose you? Even I am tired now.

  • shame on Indian for promoting bigamy truly I bliv that nw India is a very tolerant nation who cannot promote brother ship but can promote parody on real life warrior

  • @mera ghulam 2:47pm:
According to the links you have shared PRDP opening day occupancy was 85%. But in previous comment you declared it only 75%. May I know where had you found it?? Paglapur or bakrapur???

According to you PRDP did not collect 41cr on opening day. Fine, can you explain how hny collected 45cr on opening day with lower ticket prices, lesser screens and same kind of occupancy???

For your kind information I have never said PRDP collected 42cr on opening day. I believe PRDP collected 39.25cr on opening day I.e 3.25cr more than what hny collected on opening day..

  • I saw a comment saying where is Salman
    1989,1991,1994,1998(partially),1999,2005,2010,2011,2012 and now 2015 too
    Amir,1996,2008,2009,2013,2014
SRK,1995,1998,2002,2004,2007 the number of tera these two intolerant have given highest year hota is combined the number of Salman Khan giving total no of Higest box office hit of the year lol One can be and yes EK tha Tiger got released in 2012 with same no of screen Dilwale has with less ticket prices but it collected 198 crore on box office so Writing is on the wall and yes Bajirao was undefeated and will be undefeated

@Chuhe 2:14 am : but I have an easy question for you. PRDP released on around 4200-4300 screen with average occupancy of 75-80% (or say 80-85%) collected 42 cr on opening. how?
    */

Do you know the meaning of these signs like ‘/’,’%’,’&’ etc ??
If you see my comment, I clearly mentioned that occupancy was 75-80 OR 80-85 %. Isn’t it fall in that range?
Or you have issues in reading those digits ?

And for Dilwale+BM, you are talking about the official screen count and official collection (provided by Indicine) but for PRDP , you are quoting the numbers from other website just to prove your point.
    What a hypocrite !!!

And yes, I don’t have any answer how HNY collected 45 cr on opening day until you explain how PRDP collected 42 cr. Once you explain this to me, I too, will explain the HNY mathematics to you.
Insane coward chuhe, just understand one thing. You can’t win with me in playing with these stats. So try your level best.

  • @Shashwat you gatarchap idiot, how dare you exclude 1990? It was aamir’s dil which was highest grosser of that year. That woman bester none actor never was as big star nor is as big star as megastar aamir khan. And 1991, 1999, 2005 should be excluded from flop actor Salman’s career because those movies were multistarrers so credit doesnt go to Salman. Now let me tell you, the biggest megastar aamir khan has all solo movies where he never played second lead while Salman plated 2nd lead in saajan, no entry and HSSH. So those movies credit doesnt go to Salman at all. And aamir does way less films other wise he would have wat more highest grossers. Salman is just a record chaser. Aamir has 4 ATHGs and 5 ATBBs while your none actor Salman dorsnt have any after madhuri starrer HAHK. So be in your limits. Megastar aamir khan is the biggest megastar of Indian cinema and no one can come close to him. Your lallu’s lultan will earn way less than megastar aamir khan’s dangal. Because dangal will shatter all records once again and break PK’s record while lultan will not even cross 150 Cr. So get lost you bhojpuri idiot. Your gawaar none actor Salman’s success is nowhere close to ultimate biggest megastar aamir khan’s success.

  • Oh mahn I even placed hard core bets on bajirao mastani so much. Firstly the trailer was brilliant and magnificent. Dilwale was a movie anyone else could have made too but bm is a masterpiece like jodha akbar

  • @mera ghulam:
Even according to producer PRDP collected 41cr nett on opening day. But you illiterate find it 42cr. Maybe you are living some world named paglapur or bakrapur where it collected 42cr.

So you believe on only #indicine’s figures!!! Right??? Fine, according to #indicine Dilwale+Bajirao mastani collected 44cr on Sunday, which is 3cr more than what PRDP collected on opening day. Occupancy+ticket price were same in both cases. But Dilwale+BM have 500 more screens than PRDP hence collections are 3cr more too.

Now come to hny opening day collections. 500 lesser screens than PRDP(1000 lesser than Dilwale+BM), low ticket price still collected 45cr opening day, how it is possible??? Any explanation
