  • @triniman you are underestimating Ace even if P.k. Would be a avg movie still they will get close to 200cr and if it will have great (which i am damn sure it will have) than sky is the limit, and don’t worry when P.k. Release Aamir will have 3 highest grosser in overseas, just wait and watch,i will definitely posting here, will see what foolish excuse you will post that time, get well soon Chatur.

  • @aks. Boi opening note was always wrong. Paheli had good opening it did 8.5 cr in first week better than lucky and many successful movie. Mhn had record breaking opening but in their note excellent. How come swades had poor opening it should be average and same year Aitraz did similar business if swades had poor opening then it must have very good trending. Mhn broke long standing record of k3g. Boi is always anti srk. Kank opened bumper which broke krish record

  • @yash got your point, i already know about controversial take of k3 on indicine post, yaa two time Srk movies suffered by boi decreasing collection, i can’t give the proper reason, this question is better to ask to Boi by mail or else. @sht movie opening judge by two factor its screen size and its lead pair stardom, paheli as definitely have best of released that year because Srk was star, while lucky got lesser screen size that time, so compare to those factor Paheli openings declared poor, take an example of Grand Masti which opened to 12cr approx with 2200 screens while Boss released on holiday with 2500+ screens collected 12.5cr but considering the star value of both movie GM termed as excellent openings while boss can be opened as max above average opening and GM Also got ‘A’ certificate that also mark its opening more than excellent, and there are many movies of Srk which boi termed excelled and bumper, so acc to you i also don’t believe them. Its just perception you don’t believe but i do.

  • No guys….i dont think boi is anti any actor/star….

yes one can go on debating how accurate it is? but u cant say boi is partial……i can vouch for that as have followed it for years….

  • @ shane in srk’s case against aksay ajay salman ranbir even himesh release movies what happens just see

    2004 against akshay-
Veer Zaara / Aitraaz / Mughal-E-Azam / Naach (2004): Yash Chopra’s Veer Zaara emerged the first choice for cinegoers for Diwali 2004 ahead of Abbas Mustan’s Aitraaz, the colored version of Mughal-E-Azam and Ram Gopal Varma’s Naach. Though Aitraaz and Mughal-E-Azam turned out to be an average grossers, Naach was a disaster. Veer Zaara went on to be the biggest hit of the year…
    Veer Zaara 40,00,00,000
    Aitraaz 16,00,00,000

    2006 against Salman akshay-
Don – Jaan-E-Mann (2006): This was a biggie – Shahrukh Khan’s Don squared up against Salman and Akshay Kumar’s Jaan-e-mann. The result? SRK won yet again. Although Jaan-e-Mann was a well made film with melodious music, it failed to match the might of the Don…
    Don 51,00,00,000
    Jaan-E-Mann 25,50,00,000

    2007 against Ranbir Newcomer –
Om Shanti Om – Saawariya (2007): Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om clashed with master director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya. The later’s film was much-hyped, as it was the launch vehicle of two star kids Ranbir and Sonam Kapoor. Pre-release, SRK promised to ‘destroy’ Saawariya.. which he eventually did as OSO went on to be the biggest grosser of year, while Saawariya tanked after a good initial…
    Om Shanti Om 79,42,00,000
    Saawariya 23,08,00,000

  • All amir fans when ask why RAONE is HIT by BOI remind the BOI article WHAT IS A HIT? and MIND it….
    some highlights of that article……..
Today the scenario is totally changed as distributors pay a huge premium as its all about two weeks and not years. A films verdict is depended on how well it does theatrically. For big budget films a 4 crore share would mean blockbuster in 1970 and in 1995 it was the 20 crore mark, today (2010) its nearly 50 crore. The trade and media tend to bring prices in to put up a perception and then for another film the price factor goes away as a different perception is being put up. A film can be purchased at a Blockbuster price but may do only Super Hit business so therefore lose money but the fact remains it has done Super Hit theatrical business, just the distributor overpaid. If this film has a good perception with the media then it will called success and if perception is not good then the losses will be talked about.

A Ghajini was purchased at a Blockbuster price and managed All Time Blockbuster business and if this film was to be judged on distributor return then it would be an Above Average fare but the level of its theatrical performance is far more important then the huge premium paid by the distributors.

The budgets, deals which go on behind the scenes are very different and have many clauses which are different for each film. It is also difficult to judge a film on budgets as movies like Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Three Idiots only have a production budget of 25 crore and 30 crore respectively as there were profit sharing deals with main leads and with director as well for Three Idiots so you can’t put a budget to these films as you can with some others. Also nobody apart from producer and distributor know the exact details of a deal. The one constant for every film is theatrical business be it Domestic or International. Every film has two verdicts one for Indian theatrical and one for International theatrical. Other revenue sources like satellite, mu

    Grade 2: Akshay, Ranbir, Ajay
Grade 3: Saif, Emran, Ranveer Singh, John Abraham

  • @aks research before posting anything. Ghatak released one week before RH. For ur kind info ghatak open bigger than RH. But RH trend well like KKHH. But this is not fault in 90s romantic film used to release less no of print compare to action and comedy film. That is y karanarjun khalnayak Trimurti Hindustan ki Kansam border ghatak BMCM ankhe, hum opened well but HAHK DDLJ RH KKHH trended well. Today scenario has changed completely due to weekend era. Only A list star movies released in high volume of screen to generate max revenue just to avoid any negativity start to play.

  • @ AKS

great you included Billu to add Dhobi ghat for comparison but forget to mention Tzp who clashed with Biggie welcome who was 2nd highest grosser of 2007 and tzp was 04th…

2009: 3 idiots was an all-time opener, though no major SRK movie released except Billu…

2012: Talaash had similar opening than JTHJ weekend, Talaash grossed 44.1cr in 3 days normal weekend with 2500 screens, JTHJ collected 42-43cr in first 3 day with 2400-2500 screens.
    point to be noted:
Aamir is back in commercial film after 3I,a dark-Intense Film with popular heroine Kareena & Rani, AKP-Excel production but non-popular director.
JTHJ-SRK back in his best Generation, Romance, two popular heroine Katrina & Anushka,No.1 Banner YRF,
Ace Director Yash Chopra Last film and he also died before the film released so called Sympathy factor,
A.R. Rehman & Guljar Music,Extended 6 day weekend however has clash but
screen size is similar to Talassh or little lower…
Before JTHJ The movies like SOS dominateS and Talash have also KHILADI 786 after week where JTHJ and SOS same day and you know so called Sympathy factor with whom and AJAY,SALMAN,SANJAY DUTT with SOS and saying PATHAN KE YAAR se PANGA MAT LENA but result v have…
