A couple of years back, Akshay Kumar was hailed as one of the biggest superstars in the country. But the slide started with Chandni Chowk to China in 2009 and since then, apart from Sajid Khan’s Housefull, most of his other films have failed at the box-office.
Desi Boyz released yesterday to a decent response all over India. Business at single screens, were Akshay Kumar has a strong fan-following, was good.
Again, like most of his films, collections were better in North India. Day 1 business is expected to be around 8 crores net.
Unlike some of Akshay’s last few releases, the word-of-mouth is good. Majority of those who have watched the film, haven’t walked out disappointed.
Like always, Saturday and Sunday will be very important. If the film manages to pick up over the weekend, we expect the weekend to be around 25 – 28 crores.
Desi Boyz HIT or FLOP: We’d pick the former, HIT (opening was lower than expected, but having watched the film, we believe it will pick up and also sustain pretty well during the weekdays).

The budget of movie is 50cr and its weekend collection is 37cr worldwide so it means 15 cr recover by sattelite right, music right. Total 52cr and life tym collection arround 10cr grand total 62cr so it will be hope to ..HIT..

akshay will always concentrate on box office income because he could charge more money for film but he always fails not making controversy see his last five films all flop and even so boring films and disgusting to come back from here it will be tough . even with star cast like deepika john the film bends his head and showed ass to us i have lost my money for going to theater but i will manage it , oh i have a chief cook post reserved for akshay .

according to boxofficeindia : bodyguard total gross 229 cr. , ra.one hindi 200 cr. , so add another 10 cr. from other languages and 10 more from 2nd phase release in 2012 , ra.one will end up at 220 cr. (3rd highest of all time).. if this is called flop , than actors must be praying that there films get flop like ra.one …
