The longest running film in the history of Indian Cinema, Aditya Chopra’s Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, currently running in its 986th week, will complete 1000 historical weeks and 7000 days at the Maratha Mandir in Mumbai on December 18 this year.
About a year ago, a source at the theatre informed us that they had no plans of discontinuing the screening of the film “We have no plans of discontinuing the screening of DDLJ. It will run for 1000 weeks and more”

One matinee show screened at 11:30AM is running to packed houses at the Maratha Mandir since October 20 1995!
It will be interesting to see if Yash Raj Films has a grand celebration planned on the day the film completes 1000 successful weeks.

Well, Good movies deserve praises! It was one of my favorite SRK movies along with Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na and Swades! He lost that sincerity and innocent today.
By the way, I heard it is still running because the theatre is considered by the rickshaw walas (not in derogatory sense) and other passing by people as Dharamshala. So, the rest there at the hot noon time.
Suggestions to sarcastic fools like navin and sachin. DDLJ is class stuff. A better alternative for bhai fans is to go to a third class bar and dance on munni, fevicol, chunni whatever.
best romantic movie of all time…… its beauty is its simplicity….. a pretty simple and pridictable love story, but very effective, thats the beauty of this classic…. i wish it completes 10000 weeks…..
Even after 100 years people will keep talking mother India, MEA, sholey and DDLJ. Doesn’t matter how much they earn. It is shame that trade like Boi didn’t add its entire collection just want HAHK record to be safe.
In Boi page Till 2009 for 15 years HAHK collection was 65 cr later they upgraded it to 73 cr. how it possible without running in cinemas collections have changed from 65 to 73
In contrast DDLJ is which already had 61 cr during 1996 and it is running another 17 years still collections are same. Even though it is running just matinee show still it has added few more core. I still remember collection were coming around 20000 to 25000 rs till 2003. Even u take 18000 per week then it must added more than 2 cr for past 17 years.

DDLJ released with clash and its running forcthis long time didn’t taken into account….so it couldn’t broke HANK collection….But it had the highest number of footfalls.

If it is considered then we will have every producer his own theatres running exclusively their produced movie just to upbring lifetime collections. @ every body actually i m not answering some fools just wanna tell u hahk is a biggest worldwide opner after that aditya chopda inspired to release ddlj in overseas if u dnt aggry read wikipedia or search google cuz srk says it also uske baare mein wikipedia bhi pad lo. hahk world wide more than 135 crore and ddlj 122crore.
hahk is also first 100 crore world wide movie and most loved film child, young, woman, old everybody loves the film while ddlj run in only 1 theater just becuz producer wanna make a record and just becuz yrf has maximum shares and only 1 show in a day. if really this film was so good why other theater didnt run it. tell me when this movie run in two or more theaters. hahk is run more than ddlj if we consider more theater with good collections. actually i hate ddlj for bakwaas story.
