Bollywood’s most influential photographer Dabboo Ratnani launched his annual calendar at a star studded event in Mumbai on Sunday. Some of the biggest stars in the industry turned up for the launch.
Shahrukh Khan, who has featured in every calendar (except two which were exclusively for women) said “This is the first time Dabboo has taken a picture of a man in satin sheets. I was very tired as I was coming from work. So, Dabboo said: “It will be easy for you, just lie down, relax and I will take a picture of you”.
Actress Sonakshi Sinha, who arrived with her brother, said “I enjoyed shooting with Dabboo thoroughly. The best part about working with Dabboo is that we always come up with something new. This year, we went into punk and I got a punk hairstyle and wore a cuff on my ear. The result is pretty good.”
This year, Dabboo Ratnani celebrates the 15th year of his celebrity calendar with all the top stars in the industry including stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Ajay Devgn, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kajol and several others featured on his brilliantly creative calendar.

What are famous photographer? Why all movie stars tend to withdraw it from him?
He may well mastered the technical aspect, such as shutter speed, light filters, setting the frame, and so on, but in artistic terms he has no taste. Rather, he does not know how to work with models. Saw a couple of pictures here. He submitted stars, it’s horror!

I consider as prejudice that only actors, photographers and models can distinguish art from platitude. It is necessary to have brains and taste, and taste should be brought up, developed, as well as other feelings.
Therefore I wouldn’t want to answer your question.
You know, in Russia there is such saying “Eyes it is a window to the soul”. In the photo I at first look for eyes, what he or it wants to tell me? Most often on a photo of the Indian actors – the cheap stuff, emptiness, imitation of feelings, isn’t present soul, and there is a complacency, narcissism, arrogance…. Units from actors at whom the majority of photos good.
From present stars only I will mark out Aamir, at him more or less photos turn out. His look attracts, and here Shah’s look irritates – he is intrusive. (By the way, Dabboo “the remake” took Shah pictures, it already lay so on a red panel, only then it was in a black shirt).
Salman isn’t enough photos with soul (only recently he are successful in them). He mostly is closed.
Arjun Rampal, Hritik, strangely enough, but they have very few good photos. Body good, but a look empty as though something doesn’t suffice. Emotions it seems are, and the soul isn’t present. They beautiful, but they aren’t interesting to me.
From actresses: Kangana Ranaut and Sonam Kapoor, and Kangana is the first. Forgive more anybody.
Karina, Aishwarya Rai, is a lot of arrogance. They are bad model, since advertise themselves, rather than the product. (Therefore Aish in Europe have no clients, only in that part of the globe where it is well-known, i.e. in India)
Once again I will tell, those photos which were taken by the European or American photographers, at us they are called as the artists, those photos are successful (majority).
They are able to work with the client, to force model to be natural and to show those emotions that the artist wants. This art.
And here Dabboo simply adopts ideas of other artists, passing them off as your own. And with clients can’t work, he can’t tell them – badly!!!
