Dabangg 2 has collected Rs 19 crore on it’s second day at the box office. The two day cumulative total is Rs 40 crores net.
- Friday – 20.98 crore
- Saturday – 19 crore
- Total – 39.98 crore
After excellent collections on Day 1, business at single screens witnessed a slight drop. Multiplexes across the country remained steady, although the expected jump in business for the evening/night shows didn’t happen.
The film is off to a good start on Sunday and should put up bigger numbers. The word-of-mouth is mixed and Dabangg 2 certainly isn’t carrying excellent reports like the first film did in 2010.
All eyes on Sunday and Tuesday (Christmas) now. Stay tuned for all the Dabangg 2 box office updates.

@xzone, true, although I like every deserving film, and compliment every actor that does justice to his/her role.. Its just unacceptable to see Salman fans criticising SRK in this way.

He knows the period of good time is not so long so he is quickly making masala movies with new debutents and trying to make them Director. 1st he Support his Sala (bodyguard) then his brother (D-2) now his best friend Sajid (Kick). But he forget his BOSS who made him SALMAN KHAN and keep them on Hold.
Sallu is Ehsan Framosh Bhrjatiyas gives him MNPK & HAKHK but alas he forget all. If u minus these two films from Salmans Career from (1990-2010) before Dabang he is nothing.

no doubt srk’s jthj released in lesser screens but the occupancy of jthj was not the highest in spite of the festive release nd 2 think that sos affected the occupancy % is stupid coz even if sos would not hv released, then too the occupancy would not hv risen upto 100%. those ppl who wanted 2 watch jthj watched it nd those who did not want 2 watch it wouldn’t hv watched it even if the screens were 4000. so in the end it all comes down 2 the total collectionns. jthj collected around 120 crores in the domestic market in its entire duration. if dabangg 2 beats it, (which it will) it will again prove that sallu’s star power dominance is superior 2 any other star coz content of dabangg 2 is below par. Bhai’s star power will b the sole reason for it reaching 100 crore+.

by this way sos even beat dabangg 2 as it had 1600 less screens..

Opening in Orissa has been average, according to Jeetu Khandelwal of Movie Pioneers, who informed that ‘the film collected around Rs.30 lakh, but it is going housefull on Sunday’.
“Nobody will ever face any loss with a Salman Khan film. But ‘Ready’ and ‘Bodyguard’ opened with better collection compared to ‘Dabangg 2’,” he added.

screens matter only for the opening collections. fair comparisons can b made only after the total collections are out. if ppl like the movie the movie earns. bhai nd srk hv all made movies which ppl have gone to see. in bhai’s case the no. of ppl watching d movie is higher coz of astronomical collections.
Dabangg 2 dropped on Saturday as it collected in the 16 crore nett range as per early estimates. The single screen drop was expected as collections were extremely strong on day one but surprisingly multiplexes failed to show growth on Saturday. Some multiplexes showed similar business to Friday while some very down slightly but very few were up.
On monday it cant even collect 10 crs..

Dabangg 2 saw considerable drop in evening and night performances for the past 2 days. On Careful Consideration, it turns out that the drop is due to the Cold Weather.
The Performance during day is exceptionally good. Although, the film has started to get mixed reviews with more on the positive side. A Clear Picture on how the film is going to perform will be available on Tuesday.
Even Sunday Collections are going to be only a little higher. THe 2 Day total till now is around 35.5 crore, with Saturday contributing around 16 crore.
Also, with 3550 Screens, it is difficult for a film to hold up all the time. Dabangg 1 was only on 1600 screens and a Holiday Release.

And u willsee the result in 2013 when salmans other movies will release. Coz all other Big movies already booked the Festive dates. And salman recently said in his interview he will not realese his movie with anyother stars movie.
So that means next year All Sallu movies will be non-holidy movies. So next year will be interesting. We will see who is more powerfull.
