Chennai Express is yet to show any signs of slowing down at the box office. The film has almost doubled its 2nd Monday collections on Tuesday, which was a holiday for Raksha Bandhan. The total net box office collections in 12 days now stands at 192.78 crore, an average of 16 crore per day!
For all major releases this weekend onwards, whether it is Hrithik Roshan’s Krrish 3 or Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3, Chennai Express will be the film to beat, as the Shahrukh Khan – Rohit Shetty film is all set to surpass the lifetime collections of 3 Idiots. The day we have all been waiting for, from 4 long years no less, is likely to be this Saturday!

@babaji..no one is underestimating other actors ,we r just enjoying Srk success. now coming to ur point D3 and K3 , K3 nov 4 and dhoom 3 25th dec…now lets see what is the budget of the movies..K3 has a budget around 100 cr and D3 is 150 cr budget ..so even both the films crosses 200 cr still will be called a Hit they need to cross 300 cr to be called a super hit or blockbuster and 350 cr to be called ATBB(for D3)..so forget about it…now crossing the lifetime collection of CE…K3 will get just 2 holidays and one of them would be dewaali where u cant collect record breaking money..D3 will get cristmas and new year…last year dabbang 2 released on 25th dec with max. no of prints ever collected 24-25 cr and had Salman khan who is more popular then Aamir for sure..and dabbang has bigger returns then Dhoom…so practically the holidays u r thinking about are actually not scoring ..CE was lucky to get this response..but K3 and D3 will not be as bigger as u r expecting it to be…K3 may score more becoz its a kids film but will all depend on the content ..and for D3 just first week to score then game over..just wait and watch

If it is so easy with solo release then salman got 4 successive years with 1month free solo relese he should have done with 3600screens… so dont underestimate the power of king khan. For those who are mocking to Amir Khan’s 3 idiots should have some shame while doing that. 3 idiots was released in 1760 theaters while CE was released in 3500 theaters. That’s a huge difference, the budget and the marketing cost of CE is also higher than 3 idiots. So don’t be so mean while comparing both the films. If SRK was had the guts, then he would have released his CE in 1760 theaters and then we would see if he could beat 3 idiots. Also ticket price of CE is also very high compared to 3 idiots. So why comparison. 3 idiots is a master piece movie while CE is a big joke with lots of stupidity and commercial ingredients. So don’t be mean to compare these two. Otherwise, you people know very well that Krrish 3 and Dhoom 3 are good enough to break the record of the CE so easily!!
poor srkians as srk given a blockbuster or ATBB,they r now happy that if a newcomer Ranbir kapoor can give a 179 cr grosser YJHD having clash in each week in like YPD,Fukrey,Raanjhana and Ghanchakkar while in mid time Fukrey and Rannjhana were clean hits but still YJHD collected 180 cr without having a single National Holiday apart from Sunday, so ce collect more than 3I but big question is how far it can remain highest grosser in coming time as i don’t think this can be remain unbroken more than 1 year might be possible can surpass by K3 & D3 easily, time will tell but its sure that ce having great holiday period and those who giving credit to Raju Hirani for 3I success forgetting that its Rohit Shetty who save srk sinking career and how can i forget poor Akshay and Foolish Ekta who believed in that so call self proclaimed king SRK and postponed their film…….

And then dhoom 3 also will be more or less the same range coz aamir khan movies never take bumper start like salman movies in india…his movies runs only if the talk is good about the movie. His last solo releases dhobi ghat and talaash didn’t cross even 100crores even with such huge publicity…aamir is just a media hyped guy n doesn’t have fan following like srk or salman.
