Chennai Express 2nd Friday Collections: 8th Day

Chennai ExpressChennai Express dropped by around 65-70% on its 2nd Friday at the box office. A significant dip in business on the first day of the second weekend was pretty much expected as it was working day and Akshay Kumar’s Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara also had a wide release in theatres.

With around 7 crore of business on Friday, Chennai Express has now collected around 164 crore in 8 days (including previews). The Rohit Shetty film is still well on-course to cross the 200 crore mark, but a lot would depend on how well it fares on Saturday and Sunday. If there is any escalation in business for the late evening / night shows today and the entire day tomorrow, Chennai Express will have a very good chance of crossing the lifetime business of 3 Idiots (202 cr) next week.

The film is on a record-breaking spree in South India. Business in cities like Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Mangalore, Hyderabad, Trivandrum, Cochin and even smaller towns is outstanding. Likely to break the 3 Idiots record by a distance!

Note: UTV is yet to release the official figure of Chennai Express. This page will be updated if and when they send the actuals.

  • @jc. for the first time in so many arguments I agree u Bro.
first we need to accept the fact that lot many people have come to watch the movie and have loved it. that’s WY its creating records after records

Bro if we believe boi than according to it ETT collections are 186 CRORES. do u believe that. than a film like yjhd with 188 CRORES is bigger hit when compared to ETT.

  • Wow approx 10cr shame shame Akhshay mumbai 11cr with 2000 screens that is why dont underestimete the power of Shahrukh khan

  • @aks. hey Bro calm down.
when u talk about screens kindly give the authentic number. rather than increasing few for Chennai express and reducing for 3 idiots
I ll start from 7 th day
Chennai express had 2565 screens on holiday and with competition. it got 19.61 CRORES. that’s around 76452 per screen with competition
and 3 idiots with exactly 1478 screens managed 8.91 CRORES. that’s around 60000 per screen and without competition.
as u know outimd had released on that day
so when u talk about facts. get Ur facts right.

  • @aks. wow double double standards. this is heights. WY do u pick and chose according to Ur wims and fancies. really pity u

  • @aks stop talking about screen nos becus OUTIMD Just proved that ur words are nonsens :D they got 1000 screens more and 3cr less :D

so which 1 is the idiot here,

so came calm, stay away 4rm here and bk to ur safe corner where u can compare ETCrap with 3I but u cant do the same with CE and where u can dream that OUTIMD will crash ce records :D

your hate has crashed ur head

  • @noam you are talking half truth, you remembered according to boi ett-186 cr but you didnot check yjhd -179, go check boi than talk. According to each and every source ett collected higher than yjhd.

  • @aks….yeah…thats true…i was the one, who used to believe boi in past…and thats y , at jthj time, i always referenced boi for jthj’s collections, which was 101 cr…..but later i found that boi is the most double standard website….for example , at the time of each srk release, they always show the collections less than the official figures…but in case of yjhd, they shown its collections greater than official one…even according to boi, yjhd collected 188 cr , while ett collected 186 cr….
so r u agree that yjhd collected more than ett??? first tell me….and yes, i won’t follow boi ever, bcoz i don’t think that it is my attention worthy…..such a crap website…

  • @geewan + @noam what nonsense…! :-P

FYI until the final figures come in then YJHD is ahead of crappy express and ETT further ahead. Dont make me pull rank on you kiddos as I too can come up with FACTS from my ‘sources’- I will just get ‘remotecontrol’ to lend me his ‘worldwide astronomical formulae and calculator’ and I can take 2 ‘geewans’ and add 2 ‘nobody nomes’ and come out with an ’empty brain zone’…! Comprehend losers…!

PS congrats once again to Team Shetty for its atmospheric collections which are 1234% better than the generous figure I predicted of 123.4 cr net. Credit where its due but you 2 clowns are missing the gravy train by arguing over loose change and looking rather petty- grow up- Chennai Depress will collect what its destined for so as the saying goes:- “get on the train you loons”…! :-)

  • Comparison of 2 nd Friday of some commercially successfull movies in recent past with screen count
ETT with 3300 screens 4.5 CRORES (solo)
DABBANG 2 with 3700 screens around 4 CRORES (solo)
Rowdy rathore with 2800 screens around 4 CRORES (solo)
    and now the tsunami express
Chennai express 1400 screens 6.12 CRORES (competition with outidm)
and some illiterate retards want to argue with us about SRK.

  • @xzone just check boi and read you asked it section you will get to know that yjhd collection is 179 cr while ett, i trust boi and i told in my comment many times ett-186 cr, and boi also down the collection of sos that was 88 cr, i agreed for the same too. @noam tell me the link where u got 1688 screens of 3i, please not give site who created by some star fans.

  • Those who r saying that Rohit shetty save SRK career, they are fools. I knw Rohit is a good director but in CE credit goes to all. Even Rohit good movies like Golmaal series, singham, BolBachn did’nt break not even one record. These all movies complete its centuries in more than 5weeks. Dnt be Silly! And accept the truth
