The Censor Board of Film Certification has ordered three cuts from the upcoming Salman Khan starrer ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’. The movie, which is directed by Sooraj Barjatya, has a scene where the word ‘rakhail’ is used and the censor board wanted it to be removed.
Barjatya is considered to be the cleanest directors and PRDP will be one of the few films to come out of Bollywood that will get the ‘cleanest’ certificate, which is ‘U’. Most other films get the U/A certificate which requires kids under the age of 12 to be accompanied by a parent.
The censor board is usually extremely strict when it comes to passing films with ‘U’ certificate. A source close to the film said “The makers decided to adhere to their suggestion”
The source added “The scene plays out with the film’s title track and was interspersed with two old songs in some portions. The Censor Board felt it was not suitable to accompany the Ram-Leela visuals. The other scene shows a person being hanged, but the examining committee wanted it to be a long shot. The makers have complied with all the suggestions. He is known for making the cleanest family films. In fact, ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ has zero offensive content. This is the first time that such a thing has happened with Barjatya. This is truly shocking.”
The other two scenes that have been cut include a Ram-Leela sequence which had a couple of old, Hindi melodies playing in the background.
When Nandini Sardesai, member of the Board revising committee, was contacted she made the following comment “Every film has to go to the examining committee first and if the makers do not agree with its verdict, they approach the revising committee. But it has not come to us. The examining committee can’t talk (about the issue) as people are not supposed to know who are part of that panel.”
Prem Ratan Dhan Payo releases on the 12th of November. Besides Salman Khan, the movie stars Sonam Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Armaan Kohli.

god really loves salman. Otherwise he couldnt come back like this. God also loves others. Those who call him non-actor, dont know it is natural acting. Still salman may be not greatly talented but he supports young talent. If zarine & daisy shah went into hate story,salman recovered kat from boom & jacquline from murder series. In the mumbai industry, salman has been most unselfish to support a lot of people. I read in karan johar’s interview in a newspaper that he said that salman often calls him to give a chance to a young actor. Thats why i think varun said that he will try to make salman proud. Salman knows varun’s father greatly as he has worked with david dhawan in many films.

PRDP may Hit or big Hit due to favorable conditions like Diwali Release, Solo release, Songs love by audiences specially girls
but after some days people will forget PRDP like all recent films including Bajrangi and Magic like MPK & HPHK will not happen again.

U Certificate means the movie can be watched by everyone . In the past movies like KMG, Krrish, Krrish 3 and TZP have got U Certificates . I was shocked when HNY got U Certificate last year . It had offensive dialogues such as Madar Chhod Naa Yaar, Raunchy Item Song and some words like Breast Taking . I was damn sure PRDP will get U Certificate and i am damn sure Hate Story 3 will get A Certificate .
SaaS bahu serial coming. Salman do something new. You are still stuck in 1990s along with sarookh while look at class actors aamir khan and hrithik roshan. They are doing far more intelligent,meaningful and class movies. You can never match Aamir and hrithik. Keep doing same wedding drama while aamir is in hid own league and dangal will shatter pk’s records everywhere. MD will also rock. But gunday-2 and raees has no chance.
Not sure why Barjatya even wanted U certificate. Technically it doesn’t make much difference with a U/A certificate. Kids under 12 are anyway gonna watch the film with their parents. Why make creative compromises if you’re not losing any audience? Seems weird.
