Q. Can Akshay Kumar’s Holiday beat the collections of Jai Ho to be the biggest grosser of 2014? – Shreya from Amritsar
A. It’s always hard to predict the lifetime collections of any film. A lot depends on the response the film gets. If Holiday is liked, then it has a great chance of not only beating Jai Ho but going on to be the highest grosser for Akshay Kumar – currently Rowdy Rathore (132 cr).
Even though Akshay has been criticised for not crossing the 70 crore barrier, Holiday will get the widest release (expected to release on 3200+ screens), favourable release weekend (the first big release after IPL hasn’t failed in the last few years) and the Ghajini director factor is also there. However, the music hasn’t clicked, which might dent its opening.

Q. Do you think Rajnikanth’s Kochadaiiyaan can beat Dhoom 3? - Malhardave
A. Absolutely no chance. Rajnikanth’s last film Enthiran didn’t come close to the collections of Bollywood’s highest grosser of its time (3 Idiots) and Dhoom 3 is way ahead with worldwide gross of Rs 546 crore. It remains to be seen how the audience takes to this new technology called “performance capture photorealistic”. To elaborate a little more on the technology and why Kochaidaiiyaan shouldn’t be considered a ‘cartoon’ film, here’s what the film’s director Soundarya Rajinikanth had to say
“Animation is a word, a process. In India, people think animation is cartoon. Avatar was animation, but is not a cartoon. Tintin is completely cartoonistic. I am creating Rajinikanth, where he has actually performed, it’s captured on a camera and then put into a 3D version. Avatar took seven years and so much budget and a James Cameron. There was always the insecurity of the unknown, but we have taken a road never taken in India and broken rules and have completed the film in just a year and a half.”

i’m expecting thrice the collections of jai ho. not joking.
because the original tamil flick collected 103 crores, just from south india circuit.
so you can imagine, and holiday’s sattelite rights are sold for 100 crores already. check wikipedia.

&& Rajnikanth’s Kochadaiiyaan is a good movie….. but no one can’t say Anything abt this movie bcoz.. etts animation movie… ett has a chance to gv excellent responce….
B practical guys, Holiday has good content if u guys know the south remake did 180 crores, after that surely it has some weak links as well n hope that director murgadoss already remove the errors. Fact is that because of few bad movies in the past it wont get biggest opening but it could reach 160 – 170 sure, n if its akshay’s peak time thn movie would collect 230 approx. FInally best of luck to akki every actor has its own quality.
Akshay acts like a chimpanzee and his films failed to cross 60 crores. He should become a spotboy. Acting not his cup of tea.
If Akshay is a big superstar then holiday (if good/average WOM) should easily cross jai ho and rowdy rathore. It will be a shame if holiday can’t cross rowdy rathore which released 2 years ago with less screens.
Also why hasn’t the music clicked? I thought the songs were catchy. But music shouldnt matter too much in regards to crossing jai ho and rowdy rathore..

If content is not good then 50 cr , with average content 70.cr , with good content 100 cr so it will cross 2 states at best
This will be another flop from Akki. Great content-70 crore, average content-40 crore, extremely bad content-20 crore. Holiday will not cross 70 crore.
