2009 has been one of the most disappointing years for Akshay Kumar. It started off with 2 disasters – Chandni Chowk To China and Tasveer 8×10 – then came Kambakth Ishq which was thrashed by the critics and at the box-office, didn’t do even close to as well as it was expected to.
October 16th is Diwali time, but it will also be the biggest test for Akshay. The music of Blue has topped charts but will people throng to theaters to watch an under water adventure film? It inarguably is the riskiest movie of the year, and with millions at stake, another slip is something Akshay cannot afford.
The trade has reasons to worry – the movie belongs to a genre that doesn’t really have a huge audience in India – Blue is directed by a debutant Anthony D’Souza, does he have it in him to execute such a huge project – and finally there are concerns regarding the plotline and the content, which is one of the reasons why Akshay’s last few films have fared badly after great first week’s at the box-office.

why we all r fighting about King Kumar and Salman Khan today is 9 oct and just only one week to go then every one will see whts going on 16th Oct. Blue is a diffrent and well made movie and Main aur Mrs khanna is a regular as usual triangle love story. according to the promos sohail and babo are married couple and sallu is 3rd man and it is very very commen story in bolywood movies but according to Blue’s promos these 3 guys have a mission and mission movies are always intrested and good and if they are spending 100 cr then may be they made something diffrent and history is witness then dubuet directer always make some thing diffrent and we have plenty of examples from last yr A Wednesday, Rock on, Jannat, Dostana , Janay Tu ya Janay na. and this time Blue will Rock on this Diwali .But my question is still there can blue get more then 125 cr??? coz if cost is 100 cr then movie should get 125 cr and if it will be happened then it will be bigger hit then Ghajini . now tell me can (A.K) Akki break (A.K) Amir khan ?????
As far as mission and adventure based hindi movies are concerned then I will say that such movies normally do not fare well. Check past movies such as Chandi Sona,Anmol Moti,Naksha,Mission Istanbul,Drona,Suryavanshi,etc.And one thing is that all the KHANS are very good actors except Zayed Khan and almost all his films are flops-speed,shabd.etc.Personally,Blue will not do well.And Salman Khan is the best in this fight of Akshay and Salman.

Ya! It’s my view! Salman n Akshay r different actors. In some points, Salman is better than Akshay n vice versa. If one sees overall hits films between them, one must admit that Salman is better. Akshay only gave some hits in recent years(e.g Sing is King). Whereas, Salman has been giving regularly. In my opinion, BLUE can at least cover its invesment n will not be a flop because of star powers.
Get yourself known who doesn’t know it. Ya, Salman has worked with Big Producers n Directors (e.g Sooraj Barjatya and Sanjay Leela Bhansali,etc). But they were not big before working with Salman, in other words Salman made them Big. Whereas, Akshay has worked with already big banners and Directors like Yashraj and Nagesh Kukonoor. But see what disasters he gave with them (e.g Tashan, 8*10 Tasveer). Most of the Salman’s hit films r with unknown producers n directors.

Plz, be realistic. Just before 6 years ago, who cared about Akshay. Yes, he is good. But, come on, he can’t be compared to Salman Khan. For more than last 20 years Salman has been a superstar, no matter movies are hit or flop. Say ur Mr. khilary to give movies like Maine Pyar Kia, HAHK,Karan Arjun, HDDCS, Joorwa,Tere naam and so on. Salman is the only actor who has given Blockbusters in all genres of movies, Romance, comedy, family, action. Who else has done it just show me? remember Blockbusters only. Akshay himself knows Salman is much bigger star than him. It’s media more than audience who r trying to put Akki bfre Salman. ridiculous and in vain. Akki is a good comedian and stunt man. That’s it. well, i live in USA and I’ve gone to Canada many times. I’m fan of Salman and Akshay. I think both are very good actor on their own way. To be honest akki and srk have huge fan following here in USA/Canada. Just check star screen awards or sabse favorute kown popular awards voted by Indian and overseas audience. srk and akki have won but salman has never won. As far as filmfare/iifa awards, they are just fixed I guess. bc salman and akki have done really good work in films that they do deserves to win but they never got. here in usa/canada indian audience like action and comedy films and they do watch akki’s comedy films over and over again for example hera pheri, phir hera pheri, welcome, singh is kinng, heyy babyy, bhagam bhag and salman’s partner. also there was huge opening here for Wanted and Blue. All the best did good business here and main aur mrs khanna had worst opening here. noone likes indian romantic emotion films at all here in USA/Canada.
stop fighting for salman or akshay. they are both very respected actors in bollywood industry. they have worked together two times and both movies did well. jane-e-mann didnt do that well but mujse shadi karogi was a huge hit back in 2004. if u see srk he has just worked to big banners like yash raj, karan’s dharma productions. all srk did is emotional and rona dhona films and people don’t even bother watching again. everyone loves to watch salman’s and akki’s films over and over again bc both have done good comedy and action films. and both haven’t worked with big banners like srk has done. and lets just not forget the last one aamir who just produce films by himself and makes one film per year. now even srk has started to do make one film per year. at least we r still lucky that salman and akki makes 3-4 films per year so we can enjoy it. if salman and akki starts make one film per year. bollywood will be on road and defiantly become bhikaris. if u see back in 2003-04 salman gave very very good performance Tere Naam and Mujshe shadi karogi. filmfare/iifa didnt give any awards to him bc all the time award given to srk for his emotional and romantic films. same for akshay, giving 4 hits is not easy at all. Any of khan has never given 4 huge hits in one year of their career. akshay still didnt got film/iifa award for best actor and they gave to srk for om shanti om and chak de india!. OSO has done very good business but what about Chak De India!? that film had didnt do good business at all. all akki’s four films did better business then that.
