Buddha Hoga Tera Baap started off slow at the box office on Friday, picked up during the weekend and remained steady throughout the weekdays despite heavy rains and stiff competition from other releases like Delhi Belly and Transformers 3.
After the shocking low of Friday, when Week 1 looked certain to be less than 9 crores nett, the positive word-of-mouth has ensured decent collections on weekdays. According to early estimates, Week 1 collections is around 10 – 11 crore Week 1, which is approximately the same as AB Corp’s last release Paa.
With plenty of competition this week and the coming weeks, it remains to be seen how well the film sustains. Week 1 though has ensured that Buddha Hoga Tera Baap at worst, will break-even.

I sat glued to my seat and watched the end credits, while still feeling emotional after seeing Amitabh Bachchan’s new movie Buddha Hoga Tera Baap.
This man, who has enthralled the entire nation for decades, does not cease to amaze me. There was nothing pretentious about his role.
He was simply cool. His character made no bones about being an older man and enjoying every bit of it. There is no one like him. I have decided. He has created a certain genre in Bollywood that no one can ape.
His emotional scenes are unmatched. After seeing him in this movie, I realised how much we have missed watching him on screen.- QUINEE DHODI
I sat next to my 16-year-old daughter and explained what Laawaris, Yaarana and Don had meant to audiences in the past. She nodded believing me. Then she said, “I know this song, it was also in Don,” thinking she may make me happy saying that.
However, at the end of the movie my 16-year-old understood what Amitabh Bachchan had and still stands for. As we walked out of the theatre, she remarked innocently, “Mom, it is sad that my kids won’t know him. They should keep reminding us about him, like this movie did.”
Also, it was good to see Raveena back on the big screen. I thought she was brilliant and looked great. “My character is supposed to be loud and over the top, almost caricaturish and I enjoyed it,” said Raveena.
She was overwhelmed by the positive response she got from the industry for her role in the movie. We had worked together for a shampoo ad many years ago. It was the first piece of work she had done. – QUEENI DHODI

Naa to “Aarakshan” saif ki movie hai aur na hi “Eklavya” saif ki movie thi……..Both the movies are BIGB movies…In Eklavya, Saif romanced with Vidya Balan and in Aarakshan he will be romancing with Deepika……Thats it…….

There is no belive of this bastard journalists/media world. When AB Corp. itself placed the report of less than 9.0 Cr. of first week collection, then how this site changed the figure. Big fraud of big begger and his team. In my city Allahabad and nearby cities like Varanasi, Jaunpur etc. it has been kicked from various halls and down to two shows in place of four shows in some halls. Above all why to such hue and cry for a cheap masala film strange!

Buddha Hoga Tera Baap has been declared a FLOP by the trade. Here are some of the reasons..
The theatrical business has failed to live up to expectations as the Amitabh Bachchan starrer opened to a disappointing response on Friday. The film was quite obviously affected by the release of biggies like Delhi Belly and Transformers 3.
On weekdays the business was steady on the lower side, but not enough to recover its investment through theatrical business. The satellite rights have been sold for Rs 13.5 crores which will help the film break-even.
Second week was always going to be crucial but the release of Murder 2 has meant that Buddha has been replaced at single screens by the Emraan Hashmi starrer.
At multiplexes too Buddha Hoga Tera Baap has lost out on more than 60% of its shows, due to the release of Murder 2 and the craze amongst the youth for Delhi Belly has resulted in the exhibitors increasing the number of shows in its second week.

@megha: I agree with you mate, Big.B has become a publicity DOG, though he’s a legend and a great actor but i don’t understand what is he trying to prove at 70 years old!!! SRK, Aamir or SRK are not envious of him, they all respect him a lot and consider him a legend, but now Amitabh’s days are gone he was teh star of his time, now only Khans Rockkkk!

No need to take indice article so seriously as prevously also published an article calling BHTBaap as disaster (rememeber???)…they r just copy and pasting BOI (anti bigb site)………But ultimately they also know that BHTBaap is profitable venture for both its investors as well as distributors

Hey Mr.KK, we understood that you’re a hard-die Amitabh fan, but there’s no need to manipulate facts only to suit your perceptions!! Trying to prove that all websites are fake and what they are publishing is wrong will lead you to nothing, as Buddah is already decalared a flop, but it does not take anything from Amitabh, the film was liked by many, he also performed the role superbly so where is the problem?
One flop now will not affect Mr.Big B nor his stardom, he is already a legend and the best we have today without a single doubt. So please accept reality and do not try to hide or ulter facts.

And BHTB’s verdict is a FLOP and that’s all, post sources as you can, promote Amitbh and his films as you can but that won’t take you anywhere, everyone knows that the film flopped miserably at BO, but there’s one good thing. Do you know why BHTM is special and unique? Because it’s the first film in history of indian cinema that did more buisness in weekend than the entire week loooool! Great achievement!

See you people are blind with your idols (khans) and cannot digest facts, the film was profitable and that’s all!! You cannot expect a film earning 14 crores from indian market and 4 crores from overseas market with production value of 10-12 crores as flop……
