Bollywood celebrities took to micro-blogging website Twitter to hail the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, as he retired from all forms of cricket this afternoon.
Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan and several other celebrities were at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai to watch the ‘God of Cricket’ play his last international game.

@king. Agreed that Sachin is not a good finisher. Now tell me who is the best finisher of the game? Dhoni, now would u say Dhoni is the best batsmen in the world?, u can say but everyone ill laugh at u. Ask dhoni to play in difficult pitch and face dale steyn, he will be doing break dance from the pitch. Dhoni knows only to go after the bowler and he knows that well that’s why he is demoting himself and comming down in the order. Dhoni might be having better avg in 4th innings than anyone but he is not great batsmen but Sachin is. Being a great finisher is just one of the quality and Sachin lacks that bcuz he get tense easily and that’s the reason he slow down when is abt to reach century. Dhoni has great temperament and he is cool at any situation therefore he is great captian as well

I think this is enough to say everything. Moreover sachin got good support in form of Dravid, ganguly (from 96) shehvag yuvraj Lakshman post 2000. Now don’t come and say how shehvag is good support then I will explain u he scored 6 200 including 2-300 second fasted scorer of 7000 runs after Wally Hammond and this is not a joke. Maybe his technique is faulty but he demolishes any attack on his day. And averaging 50 plus in test is not a joke. So literally sachin got best support whose averages were above 50 Dravid shehvag and above 45 were ganguly Lakshman gambir.

I think u didnt read my above comment, I said Lara is better than Sachin bcuz I have wathced numerous matches played by Lara and absolutely blowned away by watching some of his innings but what I was trying to say is, he lack consistency compare to Sachin. Lara can only be compared to Sachin and vice versa. I also agree that Lara is the only batsmen who won matches single handedly without much support. Sachin’s avg is not on par with Lara against donald or pollock bcuz indian batsmen is not good in overseas pitches and Lara had no such problems. Compare Sachins records with any other indian player then comparison would be fair. Dont drag Sehwag in to this bcuz he is nothing in front of these 2 legends. Sehwag has 2 triple centuries , he is excellent against spin, he can play shots without moving feet that’s all abt him. Sachin became god of cricket during 90’s and after 2000 due to tennis elbo injury he left out few shots and became shadow of his past and I bet, suppose he didnt had the tennis elbo injury he would had scored 150 international centuries
@Soroop thanks for ur fair discussion. But again u r getting trap by media. First of all I m not undermining sachins achievement and he is the best batsman from India no two way. But I hate his selfish nature. For ex. His 100 in vs SA in first test (2011) once he complete 100 he exposed tailender and got himself remain not out just to boost his average in SA (before that tour his avg was 36) being as a best a best batsman of his he could have easily take initiative and post runs as much as possible. What lara used to do watch lara inning 226,176,196, 202 etc he did not satisfied with 100 only but tried to post good total during this process he lose his wicket. He never care about his average. Same maturity found in Rohit sharma
Now consistency just answer me why sachin took 20 more inning to surpass lara 11993 runs. Lara scored 11993 runs in 232 innings @51.69 ( I have not considered not out factor) and sachin scored 15921 in 329 inning @48.39. Tell me who is more consistent. U r giving excuses for sachin, that he has lost his charm because of tennis elbow post 2000. Just answer me how all his double hundreds came post 2000 including Odi. Tell me one test series when he scored 600 runs in his 24 year career. It is only media who exaggerates his success and hides his failure.
@sht. Let me clarify few things very clearly.
1. Media is behind Sachin bcuz he is the Sachin Tendulkar not bcuz he bought whole media. Media does not glorify u bcuz ur just “sht” and not popular, it’s as simple as that
2. How much boost he get by being not out? Lol. Why can’t Sachin allow tailender to bat bcuz tailender is also an international player, they also do some batting practise at nets. Dude open ur eyes. Why cant sachin philosophy be play and let others play, even tailenders scored century
3.Do u know meaning of consistency?. Take one example of Navin (salman fans) and xzone (srk fan). Navin is better than any one in his days but comment utter foolishness at
times whereas xzone is very good and consistant. Now tell me who is better?. In the same way Sachin is consistant whereas nobody can play like lara in his day. If u have doubt abt who is more consistant between Lara and sachin then ask anyone u ill get the answer instantly frm anyone or surf net , u dont have to waste ur energy for that.
In Short Sachin is consistent whereas lara can play long innings.
