The much-awaited teaser of Bang Bang is OUT. Director Sidharth Anand has packed everything into a minute long teaser – death-defying action sequences (Hrithik got injured while performing one of the stunts in the film), bike stunts, car stunts, underwater sequence, Hrithik Roshan looks better than ever (look at those abs), Katrina Kaif looks stunningly beautiful. You can’t expect more from a teaser, can you?
Like in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, the chemistry between Hrithik and Katrina promises to be good this time around too. Both actors look great together.

The stunts look poor copy of knight n day ( which released in 2010) with a budget triple times the budget of bang bang. I challenge bang bang would be crap with non sense action scenes. Those who have watched knight n day like me won’t be impressed by this teaser n probably the film will be crap. B grade centres would find to not understand this film. Multiplex audience most of them have already watched knight n day. I said it earlier n I say it again bang2 won’t collect more than 150 cr

Hrithik Roshan has performed some amazing never-seen-before kind of stunts in his next film Siddharth Anand’s Bang Bang. From crashing cars, to flying bikes to daredevil water action stunts — Hrithik Roshan has done it all with the stunts choreographed by Hollywood action director Andy Armstrong. Nor is his co-star Katrina Kaif far behind in the film which is a remake of the Hollywood film Knight And Day. The teaser of the film is out today and it promises to be a big scale action-romance. Says an insider, “Katrina has been part of almost every action sequence with Hrithik in the film and their chemistry is sizzling. Bang Bang releases on October 2.” Siddharth says, “Hrithik and Katrina have simply outdone themselves. This is his biggest action film to date. In this particular chase sequence (pic above) Katrina is driving the car while Hrithik is shooting. We shot it in Delhi. Because of the logistics and kind of action involved, it was an extremely challenging sequence to shoot but they managed to pull it off. In fact, both have pulled off some great stunts together with Andy. We achieved the almost-impossible with a little bit of rehearsals as we were running against time.”

Bang Bang is easily Hrithik’s toughest film.
An accident, a surgery and a separation, Bang Bang director Siddharth Anand talks about Hrithik Roshan’s troubles.
How did the accident happen?
It was not an accident or Hrithik would have been hospitalised immediately. But we continued shooting, moving from Thailand to Greece. He had to be launched 30 metres into the air on a jet spray and land in water. We don’t know if it was the impact of water which caused the injury. The doctors told him that it cannot be attributed to a specific cause. He himself told me that he had banged his head against a wall while shooting Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai. It could even have been something he had since birth but which got aggravated now.
Did you visit him while he was in the hospital?
I was not in India then. But he sent me a text: Don’t worry, everything is going to be better than what it is now.
Shouldn’t body doubles be used for dangerous stunts?
Isn’t a duplicate’s life equally important? I know many stuntmen who’ve died while working on a film. I’m pained by our pathetic infrastructure. In other countries, a chopper arrives in 10 minutes to fly the injured to a hospital but a life is not valued in India.
What was the mood like when Hrithik returned to the sets?
Most of the film was yet to be shot when he returned. We were so nervous we kept asking him if he was sure he wanted to go full-throttle. Any other actor would have asked for a double. But this man will do anything for a film. He has done jaw-dropping stunts. We’ve gone beyond Knight And Day. If the Tom Cruise-Cameron Diaz film had a sequel, it would try to match up to Bang Bang.
Was he distracted? His personal life too had run into stormy weather…
He has gone through a lot of pain, I’m sure he is still going through a lot. But he never let it show, he knew it would affect the team’s morale. No actor has suffered as much while shooting for a film. Bang Bang is easily Hrithik’s toughest film.
How did he come on board?
I bumped into him at Karan Johar’s 40th birthday party and told him I had something for him. He said “Call me tomorrow.” That’s a common line you hear, so I did not call him. I messaged him after eight months. The next minute, his number was flashing on my phone.

Director Siddharth Anand is thrilled to work with Hrithik Roshan in Bang Bang, which he calls the story of a quintessential Bollywood hero. Says he, “A Hindi film hero is supposed to act, fight, emote, cry and dance. Hrithik is on top of the game in all these and does total justice to the role.”
The director, who’s venturing into action for the first time, adds, “As far as stunts are concerned, Hrithik has already pushed the envelope with Krrish 3, and there was a pressure to go beyond that. So, we have a Formula One car zipping through the streets, Hrithik jetting 30 feet above the water, thrills with jet skis and motor boats, and much more. His action scenes will be talked about.”
The water sequence, Anand says, was particularly tough. “We can control the action we shoot on land, but while shooting at sea, you’re at the mercy of the tide. Three days before the shoot, Hrithik started practising the stunts for five-six hours daily. It took us eight days to shoot the sequences in water”
The leading lady, Katrina Kaif, also rose to the challenge. “She is integral to the script and we needed someone who could perform stunts. Also, Hrithik and Kat look good on screen,” sums up the director. The film’s teaser will be out today.
Bang Bang, produced by Fox Star Studios, releases October 2.
