It never made any business sense, but Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the lead cast of ‘Bajirao Mastani’ had reconfirmed time and again that their film would hit screens during Christmas 2015.
However, reliable sources close to Sanjay Leela Bhansali have confirmed that the makers of ‘Bajirao Mastani’ are now looking at a solo release date in 2016.
The reports come a week after Red Chillies Entertainment officially announced the release date of Rohit Shetty’s ‘Dilwale’ starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon.
Earlier this week, there were also reports that the shoot of ‘Bajirao Mastani’ was delayed by a few days due to Ranveer Singh’s surgery and Bhansali wanting to reshoot a song sequence of the film.
The period drama starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra in the lead, is touted to be one of the costliest films produced in Bollywood. A clash against a Shahrukh – Kajol film could have backfired big time, more so since Bhansali’s ‘Saawariya’ failed to match upto SRK’s Om Shanti Om back in 2007.
While the news is yet to be officially confirmed by Eros International or Sanjay Leela Bhansali, it’s more or less confirmed that the film won’t release in December.
There you go then, Shah Rukh Khan will get a solo Christmas release this year.
No matter what with dilwale it is destined to lag behind prdp n BB.

I must say it is a very wise decision..I want Bhansali to complete his masterpiece with as much time he wants..I’m expecting extraordinary performances from its lead starcast.. He should target pre IPL release date or or any partial holiday period..

What’s wrong if I enjoyed average Singham Returnz more than below average Chennai Express? Singham returns was intense and more consistant than CE. Plus, the over all performances of all the actors in SR were better than that in CE.
