Bajirao Mastani continued its glorious run on Day 4 at the box office. The film was rock-solid on Monday, as there was hardly any drop at most centres that we tracked. In fact, some were performing better than Friday. The centre that registered the biggest fall, dropped only by 21%, which is excellent.
Dilwale, on the other hand, was steady. The percentage of drop from Friday to Monday is bigger than Bajirao Mastani, but that is only because Dilwale took a bigger start on Friday. The average drop for Dilwale is around 45-50% from Friday, which is normal for a weekday.
At single-screens, Dilwale is performing very well, while Bajirao Mastani has taken the lead at multiplexes.
There is a good chance that the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film could put up a total in the range of Rs 10 crore +/- on Monday.

Dont agree with your last line that he could have chosen some other date.
You say he SLB should have chosen a better release date. But I say what date. He wasn’t getting any solo Eid, Diwali, Christmas. Also if he gets any normal day with no. of films releasing each week it it would have had only 1 open week before next week release arrives.
He took a risk but it was worth it. Risk was with WOM of dilwale. He was aware he has a good product in hand and he wanted that WOM of dilwale turns out mixed or negative. If response was positive for dilwale BM wouldn’t have been this successful as in that case all people who want to see only 1 film would have surely gone for Dilwale due to its genre. But SLB wish that Dilwale gets poor wom came true. Now monday collection of BM will overtake dilwale collection.And that is where multiplex owners will take in mind while allotting no. of shows for week 2 and 3. And BM surely will get higher screens in both upcoming weeks which has big holidays.
So a perfect release date. And SLB rewarded for his risk.

MY fans were so sure that my movie would OVERTAKE BM IN FIRST DAY but they were wrong! They are as Insecure as i am that is why they kept saying “Dilwale will beat BM” for over a year now. Now i know my fans will say PRDP wouldn’t keep the competition with BM and that is totally not true. It would still earn 200cr which dilwale would never do that. Watched Dilwale once again today, this time at a single screen.
Despite being a Monday, the theatre was 80-90% occupied for an afternoon show, & mind you it’s a Monday, after walking out when I checked the 6 & 9 pm shows were Sold Out.
Just a sign that there is no stopping Dilwale.

Being a non holiday weekend collections were excellent . BM scored more than my expectation and Dilwale slightly less .The gap will become narrower and BM might touch Dilwale’s collection in few days which is obvious bcoz of the praise BM is getting .
