Bahubali 2 is on a historic, record-smashing run at the box office the world over, but it would be an understatement to say the collections from the Hindi version has shocked the trade. The film has destroyed the record of the biggest of Hindi releases on its opening day as well as its first weekend and the trend suggests the 4-month-old record of Dangal – which collected Rs 387 crore at the domestic box office – will soon be history.
If the start on Tuesday is anything to go by, then the Dangal record could be beaten in less than 2 weeks – because the second weekend collections could be as high as 75-80 crore or maybe even higher.
At the end of the 4 days, Dangal had collected Rs 132.7 crore, while Bahubali 2 (Hindi version only) has collected 168 crore (approx). The lead is 35.3 crore over a 4 day period, which could increase to 50 crore or more by the end of the first week.
The 200 crore mark is likely to be surpassed today (the advance for Tuesday is outstanding) and unless there’s a major drop, the film could get to 250 crore by the end of the first week. That would put the Dangal record in real danger of being surpassed, not just in the long run, but in 2 weeks or less.
And.. we are only talking about the Hindi version of Bahubali 2. The All-India net including collections from all versions will cross Dangal’s 387 crore total today.
We are witnessing box office history at the moment. Smaller cities and towns in the South where no film had previously crossed 50-60 lakhs, Baahubali 2 has already become the first film to cross the 1 crore mark and given the word-of-mouth, it has the potential to double it.
Yes, the ticket prices are high, but the makers have justified the prices by giving the audience an experience that they’ll remember for a very long time.

Now I am getting doubt on collections.
Opening record, had no doubt. Saturday hold, had no doubt. Sunday 45+, still had no doubt. But Monday 40 is doubtful. Occupancy will obviously down by at least 5-10% and even ticket prices should be down by same %. In the theatre I watched it weekend rate was 200 and for same show on Monday it was 140. 35 would be acceptable but 40 is highly doubtful. Not saying it because I am jealous but it was an honest opinion.
Four 40 cr+ days!!!!!! This is historic man! Even Sultan’s fastest 200 cr record will be smashed now. I thought Tubelight/TZH had the potential to break Sultan’s first week record but don’t know if any film can break the record of Bahubali 2 in the next 2-3 years.

Here few people are claiming that Khans can never break this record…..Yes they are right and I am totally agree with them, Khans can never break this record, and you know what’s the reason behind this, because the audience in South are the most stupid audience (sorry for saying this but it’s true)……No matter how Great & Classic movie we (Bollywood) make (Bajrangi Bhaijaan & Dangal are just 2 examples), they will never appreciate it and never watch it, for them only their stars are important……Actually they never watch movie because it is good or bad, but they watch it for their South Indian Stars……Unlike in North or other places in India, here we appreciate Good movies and that’s why we accept Bahuballi 2 with Open arms……This is a huge difference between the audience in South India and in Rest of India…..
So yes Khans can never break Bahubali 2 record…….
But you know what’s the other reality is……its that Khans can Break Bahubali 2 record in all other places, I mean in Hindi Domestic Market (means rest of India) and in Overseas Market…….I am assuring to each and every South Indian Audience that before the end of 2018 (Maximum) we will break Bahuballi 2 record (except South Record)……..
