Varun Dhawan’s Badlapur has collected Rs 7.25 crore on its opening day at the box office, which is the third highest first day collections this year after Roy (10.41 cr) and Baby (9.3 cr).
Badlapur has performed well in cities like New Delhi, Noida, Mumbai, Pune and a few others. Mysore circuit cities like Bangalore and Mangalore took a slow start, but picked up towards the end of the day.
The film is set for a strong Saturday as the reports are fantastic and multiplex business should pick up today. The India vs South Africa World Cup match tomorrow, could affect business. Roy dropped by 35-40% last Sunday but that film was carrying negative reports. The word-of-mouth for Badlapur is much better, so it’ll be interesting to see how well it sustains on Sunday.

The films collections are said to be poor but to me its catastrophic as I felt atleast 1 billion of kings fans may come from China considering 1 billion come from India n remaining 1.7 billion from other overseas territories but thats not the case it seems. The film has collected only $137,000 approx in its first weekend but looking at Dhoom 3 which collected $1.35 million in its first weekend then clearly something went horribly wrong…!
