Akshay Kumar’s Baby has collected Rs 63.82 crore in its first week at the box office, but the huge drop in business on weekdays followed by yet another drop on 2nd Friday, has pretty much sealed its fate.
Even though the start last week was slow, Baby did show good growth over the extended 4-day weekend. The film sustained well on Tuesday too, but the drops on Wednesday and Thursday was nearly 20% on each day.
Looking at the collections in the morning today (2nd Friday), Baby has done better than all new releases, but the collections are likely to go below the 3 crore mark today. The film will finish as an ‘Average’ grosser at best.

- Friday – 9.3 cr
- Saturday - 11.17 cr (20% growth)
- Sunday - 15.6 cr (39% growth)
- Monday - 14.9 cr (4% drop)
- Tuesday - 5.1 cr (66% drop)
- Wednesday - 4.25 cr (17% drop)
- Thursday – 3.5 crore (18% drop)
- Total collections in first week - 63.82 cr

As a fan i am just glad that akshay has done something different this time! I watched baby first day first show. I knew by the end of it that its a worth watch paisa vasool movie. Now, when we talk about collections, it wont bother me as long as akshay is doing 4-5 films a year. In fact, it never did! The best damn thing about being an akki fan is that you dont have to wait almost an year for a film to come…through out the year, akki remains in trending,no matter what. Also, i feel sorry for non-akki followers who have to watch their heroes movies 4-5 times bcz they make only a single movie a year. Pity!
Without promotion, good songs, romantic scenes, wet comedy & action flicks this coll. Is quite good bt shame on t-series.

Clash was not a major factor for Baby..Still many screens were available for release….The problem was its genre and above all low opening ..And credit of low opening goes to Akki for his poor choices in the past..
And who stopped akki from promotion….Promotion means that all audience must aware that movie is coming ,rest is the choice of audience which depends on trailor,promos,songs etc…….Its is mismanagement of Akshay…..And Srk has the guts to make average to poor script superhit…So it is plus of Srk…..And akki could not sell a well managed script…So praise srk for this quality and dont make it excuse

no doubt Aksay is a good actor…..but i dont know…..kavi kavi kya ho jata hai jo Jokerr , entertainent jaisi movie k liye haan krta hai…sayad paiso ka bhukha hai
@srk don 2 was promoted hugely it had songs better production house,festive season,franchise factor and it was not just a thriller it was a thriller+masala so its collections are better than baby,also jan is considered to be worst period for any film to released

akki’s main gabbar will be huge for sure since its not ind/pak war type movie… it will break the records of rowdy rathore, waiting for main gabbar.
My predictions were correct. The Baby is going to be flop. It will not cross more than 80-85 crores life time. The film did not attracted to masses….
The main reason, it didnt had good start and good weekend.
Reason: Failed to attaract the single screen audiences.
Guys 18% of population contributes 80 % of revenue in bollywood movies even those film does not deserve to be 50 lac. I can name them Kick, HNY, Dhoom 3. because of khan factor. Look any movies of Ranveer Kapoor, Ajay Devgan, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor even their movies are masala but have good storyline. There movies do not cross more than 130 crore. BABY deserve to be 200 + crore But terrorism chapter eluded the 18 % population to watch the truth. Hai Hind
