SS Rajamouli’s Telugu film Baahubali has recorded the highest single day and opening day collections in the history of Indian Cinema. The film has collected close to Rs 50 crore, out of which the Hindi version (presented by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions) has contributed Rs 5.1 crore and the collections from the Telugu version alone was around the 31-32 crore mark.
Baahubali has also opened to extraordinary collections in Tamilnadu, Karnataka and Kerala. In Karnataka, all three versions (Hindi, Telugu and Tamil) were released in cities like Bangalore and all three were running to decent occupancies throughout the day.
What makes the Day 1 collections of Bahubali truly staggering is the fact that the film released on a non-holiday. Previously, the biggest single day grosser was Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year and that film released a day after the Diwali holiday, arguably the best day for film business in India.
Even though the film is performing well in states that are not affected by Ramadan, the impact is still there and this is what makes the Day 1 collections of Baahubali mind-boggling.
The Mumbai circuit collections of the Hindi version is around the 2.5 crore mark, which is by far the highest for a dubbed film.
‘Baahubali’ has also opened well in the overseas markets and the global box office collections of the film could have crossed the 60 crore mark.
Note: The entertainment tax for Telugu films in Andhra Pradesh is 15%, whereas Hindi films pay more than 3 times the entertainment tax in a major state like Maharastra. So the ‘gross’ collections (including entertainment tax) of Happy New Year is still the highest, but when it comes to net collections (after deducting entertainment tax) and distributors share (after deducting exhibitors / theatre share), Baahubali is the highest single day grosser in the history of Indian Cinema.

Robot did huge business in 2010 and now Baahubali will do outstanding business in India . This will be the Highest Grossing Telugu movie no doubt about that . This movie will do huge business in Hindi version till 16th July . Because from next week BB will take away most of the screens and shows . This is the highest collection for a dubbed movie much higher than Robot, I, Vishwaroop and Lingaa . I am really happy that people have accepted such a movie with both hands . I am planning to watch the movie tomorrow with my family . Now i wonder and wish when will Bollywood make such a movie ? Baahubali has also beaten the 1st day collections of PK in USA . Comolete fake. I am from andhra pradesh nd i knw how telugu films box office collections r manipulated. Its not first time. Many telugu producers before showed fake collections. Magadhreera grossed 70 cr they said 100 cr. Dookudu grossed 50 cr but they made posters with 100 cr. Its all common in tollywood. So dnt believe in these fake stories. At max bahubali telugu version collection wud b 15-20 cr. Tamil collection is also fake. There is no network for Telugu n Tamil films to track collection.
I doubt on this report…32 crs only from Telugu? how is it posible. Indicine u said once, even if the film opens to 100% all over India occupancy it will collect close to 55 crs. then how is this possible 32 crs alone from one or 2 states??

This is simply huge. FAN teaser and release of Bahubali has created so much buzz that no one is interested in our bhai’s movie bajrangi bhaijaan. Bajrangi bhaijaan will be biggest flop decade flop songs,flop trailer, no buzz, disaster. Lol.

Why would you want to mention anything about Entertainment Tax in the first place…?
That has nothing to do with us ie the audience…. What they pay or what bollywood pays has nothing to do with audiences. We all pay the final price which even I feel is high but I dont want to know what percentage goes where and to whom coz I at the end of the pay have to pay the final admission rate and thats final for me. Why not just tell us what the movies nett collections are n not go into innecessary details about gross collections n taxation etc etc
You will only confuse your fans in Manipulationpur who believe in gross collections for one film (jadoo 3) n nett collections for every other film and the paglapurian fanbase are still confused as to why DDLJ after a 20 yr free run at MM still could not beat HAHKs 21 yr old record.
In truth keep it short n sweet- dont try to cloud the issue- Bahubali has collected a huge figure so let them enjoy their moment in the sun please…!

KING KHAN still holds the record of 45 CR including tax paying.about baahubali soon I’ll watch the crap.all I can say there is huge support Telugu film every time gets even though may how the film will be poor.and Telugu peoples just wroships ss rajamoulli even then any star in andhra/telangana.so it was just bound to happen which I knew.this movie will trend good in andhra/telengana for a month and will be removed theatre after a week in other states ,so definitely film’s collection will be around 120cr-140cr maximum.if anyway it crosses you’ll need to understand that producer is doing manipulation.and the promotion of that movie was going on around 2 years,still 30-31cr +8cr is not a surprise looking at 4600 screen.

Basically speaking how good may be the movie’s graphics,but the trailer you can mark such disgusting low class acting from all the unknown actors ,the acting will be nothing but great irritation.that’s why I don’t watch any south movies.their quality of making films,acting performance neither the actor’s looks all are just disgusting.south peoples are supporting them huge thinking of their own kind otherwise those actors doesn’t know how to act and producers doesn’t know what is cinematography,probably can say low grade cinema watchers NAD their dialogue delivery too sucks big time.even a salman film’s torture can beated but south torture is just unbearable irrespective of RELEGION,LANGUAGE an dither PERSONAL BELIEFS/THINGS.

Indicine hope here on u will stop giving lame excuse of pre ramdhan pre Xmas period etc for bajrangi bhaijan like Boi. Kick worked solely because of its content not bhai power which I keep telling it was very good entertIning movie and remake of highly popular Telugu kick. Also stop using words for salman like arguably the biggest. Just check BMS in hydrabad (Muslim dominated area) each and every show were housefull despite 5 times more no of shows than kick.
Now on Eid we have 3 choices plz pick 1 or 2 or both. Skip 3rd.
1. Bahubali….. If you chose this one your choice is excellent. 5/5 Go,watch and enjoy.
2. Bin Roye….. Again your choice is excellentnt. 4.5/5.

on the other hand hindi films hv to pay so much tax everywhere. shockingly bollywoods own maharasthra has 45% tax for hindi films. in bengal bollywood films hv
to pay 20% tax while bengali films only 5% tax.
