The struggle for Emraan Hashmi films continues, as Azhar was poor on Day 2 at the box office. The film has collected Rs 7 crore on Day 2, which is way below par for a film that was expected to grow on word-of-mouth publicity.
In today’s times when multiplex business is crucial for almost every film, Azhar took a slow start on Friday, but it’s the Saturday business that has come as a big disappointment because the occupancy at multiplexes was around 10% higher than Friday.
Mass centres, where the film opened fairly well on Friday, were down on Saturday. This trend usually means curtains for a film on Day 2 itself, but with costs on the lower side (Azhar needs 45-47 crore for recovery) there is a chance if the film shows big growth on Sunday and holds well on Monday.
Our IndicineLBO (lifetime collection) prediction for the film is Rs 35 crore.

I have watched azhar today here in Nepal. Very narrow minded script, I mean there were not details about life of azhar in this movie. I used to like Emran’s acting but none of his recent movies entertained as much as his starting phase movies. He should back on his own genre movies i.e. romantic thriller movies to get big success. OUTIM, jannat, razz, murder etc. were his genre movies.

Have not watched the movie yet but from some literate comments one can presume the movie is just average. I think back then apart from decent acting his songs really increased his fame. While his romantic scenes back then is quite petite in front of some grande bolder scenes from the you g guns. Wish I luck more important happy for your son .

Had the director focused more on underbelly of the cricketing game rather than limp personal life of Azhar, then the movie would have been nail-biting experience. Moreover, lack of great impression from the star casts and overly commercial approach led the movie bland and forgettable.
