It’s that time of the year when one big film has just released in theatres and has performed reasonably well at the box office. The industry now has high expectations from the remaining 4 major releases this year – Tamasha, Hate Story 3, Bajirao Mastani and of course, the biggest of them all, Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale.
Year 2016 is shaping up to be one of the biggest years for the industry too. All the holiday weekends have been blocked by big releases and except Aamir Khan’s Dangal, it’s going to be a year of clashes.

Sometime back, you informed us that Bajrangi Bhaijaan broke all viewership records when it premiered on television, which included live sporting events. So, does that mean that it broke the viewership record of the India-Pakistan tie during the world cup in February?

With the theatrical trailer of Bajirao Mastani getting a positive feedback, don’t you think that the clash will not be beneficial to any of the parties involved; As Dilwale will be looking to break records and BM will be looking to recover its high costs, which would be easily possible if it releases on some other day.

Do you really think that Raees vs Sultan will happen as SRK & Salman are good friends ? And also as PRDP didn’t perform as well as expected and Dilwale will probably fight to break any record because of BM clash, don’t you think that both need a big good solo release ?
Why is Akshay kumar understated? He releases 3-4 films per year and his films still manage to collect around 80-85 crore on an average, which is no mean feat. This happens quite often. For example, if a youngistaan film collects more than 100 crore, then people start barking that Akshay’s stardom is over and all that crap. I mean, he’s been in the industry from the past 24 years, give him the respect that he deserves, rather than comparing him with the likes of Varun Dhawan, who has just been in the industry from the last three years. Varun is doing really well, no doubt, but comparing him with Akshay Kumar is unfair.
@Indicine, Do you think historic romance like BM has repeat value among single screen. If yes, Can BM hurt dilwale at BO. If no, Can BM earn at least production cost. According to BOI, most screens were already booked by dilwale. As per BOI report, Is Slb are in danger situation because BM budget is over 100cr.
Why did you not consider Salmans fee in total budget of PRDP? Even if it is covered thru satellite should not his fee be still a part of total budget? This can be viewed as an innovative way to reduce the total budget of movie so that the movie can look as a superhit movie. Can u please clarify this?

When JTHJ nd SOS clashed in 2012 Screens were divided by 2500 nd 2000 but now screens are increased in India for Hindi release.
Now what is the number of maximum screens for hindi release and how will be divided between Dilwale and Bajirao mastani?
