Actress turned Director Aparna Sen who is presently working on her soon to be released film “The Japanese Wife” which is based on Kunal Basu’s short story starring Rahul Bose and Raima Sen, has decided on her next venture too. She has decided to take up ‘Gulel’ as her next film which was shelved due to death of producer Naeem’s uncle Ismail Merchant.
Aparna is keen on signing Abhishek Bachchan who had already given dates for the film when Naeem was to produce it.
Sen says, “For ‘Gulel’, I really want Abhishek and I know Abhishek wants to do the role. He has said yes.”
Abhishek Bachchan expressing his interest to work with Aparna said, “I’ve worked in two Bengali films with Rituda in ‘Antarmahal’ and in a film called ‘Desh’, directed by Raja Sen in which I played my own mom’s son. It would be delightful to work with Aparna Sen.”
