Five legends of Indian Cinema – Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Jaya Bachchan, Mithun Chakraborty and Shahrukh Khan inaugurated the Kolkata International Film Festival 2013 in the presence of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee.
Veterans from Bengali cinema, including actor and guest of honour Prosenjit Chatterjee, were also present at the Netaji Indoor Stadium.
Filmmaker Sandip Ray, Bengali actress Sabitri Chatterjee and Supriya Devi, Dipankar Dey and music director Dwijen Mukherjee, also participated in the lamp lighting that concluded with Amitabh Bachchan releasing the brochure of the film festival.
