West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee has said that acting legend Amitabh Bachchan, who was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, deserves the Bharat Ratna.
“Amitabh Bachchan is a legend in his lifetime. Padma Vibhushan is not enough. Somebody of his stature deserves a Bharat Ratna” Mamta told reporters.
Two of India’s greatest actors, Amitabh Bachchan and Dilip Kumar, were selected for the Padma Vibhushan. Directors Jahnu Barua and Sanjay Leela Bhansali , along with lyricist Prasoon Joshi also received Padma awards.

In my Opinion, Raj Kapoor n Dilip ji deserves it more than anyone in Film industry…
But as an Actor they both have won the Highest honour in Bollywood… Dada Saheb Phalke award n That is Enough to Show their contribution to Indian Cinema…

@damnnn if any one from today generation deserves most than it should be Aamir khan,srk also doing great but Aamir step ahead.He has done social relevant movies as well been part of those in real lives,his production house churned brilliant films and SMJ took him ahead and diverse from others.But it just perception of fans in reality I don’t think any of them can get except Big B.

SRK deserves the Bharat Kela award, nothing else. One of the worst actors of all times.
Bharat Ratna should be awarded to Manoj Kumar. Because he has made so many patriotic films and they were appreciated by all.
He never got any national award. For actors, National award requires real contribution through meritorious works and not merely by box office collections from unrealistic roles.
