Akshay Kumar is one of the most prolific actors in the industry today. On an average, the superstar has around 3 – 4 releases every year and 2014 will be no different.
The gap between his last release Boss and his upcoming film Holiday will be 7 months and 20 days, which is the longest period between two Akshay Kumar films since Andaaz and Khakee in 2003-04!
While other superstars like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Hrithik Roshan concentrate only one film at a time, the promotion of two Akshay movies sometimes happen to coincidence – the marketing campaign of Boss began before the release of Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara last year. The same could happen this year too, since Its Entertainment is scheduled to release two months after Holiday.

Holiday (6th June 2014): The director of Ghajini, A.R. Murugadoss returns to direct his second film in Hindi titled Holiday: A soldier is never off duty. The film is based on sleeper cells, a topic that not many know a lot about. A sleeper cell or a sleeper agent is a trained spy / terrorist, who is placed in a country by a extremist group or organisation. Their role is to continue leading a normal life until they are called to undertake a mission – somewhat similar to Irfan Khan’s role in D-Day. Holiday stars Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha. The film, remake of Tamil blockbuster Thuppakki, releases on the same day as ‘Action Jackson’ on 6th June 2014 i.e the weekend after IPL 7.
Its Entertainment (8th August 2014): Successful writer duo of Sajid – Farhad turn directors with a TIPS’ film titled Its Entertainment. Akshay is cast opposite ‘Himmatwala’ star Tamannaah Bhatia. The film has a strong supporting cast comprising of actors like Mithun Chakraborty, Prakash Raj, Sonu Sood, Johnny Lever and Krishna Abhishek. Its Entertainment releases a week after Salman Khan’s KICK on 8th August 2014.
Gabbar (release date not announced): Telugu filmmaker Radhakrishna Jagarlamudi (also known as Krish) directs the remake of A.R. Murugadoss’ 2002 film Ramana, which was later remade as Tagore starring Chiranjeevi and also in Kannada as Vishnu Sena starring late actor Vishnuvardhan. The action-drama also stars Shruthi Hassan, Prakash Raj, Sonu Sood and Sunil Grover (popularly known as Gutti) in important roles. The film is produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who last produced one of Akshay’s most successful films Rowdy Rathore. Gabbar could release late this year or early 2015.
Shaukeen remake: Akshay will also be seen in Rumi Jaffrey’s remake of Basu Chatterjee’s 1980 comedy film Shaukeen. The actor will be playing a supporting role, which was enacted by Mithun Chakraborty in the original film. Nargis Fakhri plays the female lead.
There are rumours that Dharma Productions’ is in talks with Akshay to play the lead in Shuddhi and also a film with Punit Malhotra (not Gutka, it has been shelved). Akshay could also feature in the remake of Ajith’s 2013 hit Arrambam.

@Khairul its entertainment was to clash with singham 2 on 15th August but because of kind-hearted Akshay it was preponed to 8 August.Kick will have 11days to do its business if release date is not changed.But all Akkians have been pleading with TIPS and Akshay to change it.But this is not the same as outimd-ce issue where only 1300 screens were allocated to outimd.All 3 films will get max screen size to do business if release dates are not changed
@samar Akki has plenty fans but because of the biasness of the media,most choose not to visit and comment but rather discuss it among ourselves on twitter or any space available.And from what i have seen akki has has the same fan base as any other big star
Akshay is a good actor but he himself does’t support his movie he does not show any intrest in promotion for ex- during ouatimd or boss he was hardly seen in news and this is the part where khans beats him they heavily permote their movies and also 1 thing akshay should do only 2 movies in a year because people don’t like to watch same actor after every 2-3 month gap.

@aeeyy,I read one of your comment in which you had written gabbar should release in Deewali.I know you want to see SRK’s movie in destroy postion.but I pray gabbar shouldn’t release in Deewali for akshay’s sake.because I don’t at least hate him as you hate SRK.if you want to see another CLASH of akshay with SRK,then you’ll find another ouatimd/boss or a miserable year like 2013.or you might forget CLASH of salman and akshay’s jaaneman with SRK’s DON,so losing two times worked with multiple actors also your itching of CLASH remained.it’s problem with in akshay not in SRK.I know you’ll not accept the BEST which is FACT so remain in that state foreverI don’t think so akshay will dare ever to release against KING OF CLASHES,pity on you.

don’t want to to comment on flop kumar,because his whole career is a flop,also he hasn’t such fans like SRK and salman.it’s BOI who added also the average into success also his movies double than SRK if we calculate the %success of the list given by you between SRK and flop kumar so as to equalise them:
SRK: total-26,success-19,%success-73.3%
akshay:total-57,success-28,%success-49.1%
so you’re the big loooooooser.in this way calculate whole career’s hit%,also I have added even averages so that might he could come closer to SRK.
SRK always clashes with big films having less screen otherwise his all films would have bbs.did you forget about CLASH of jaaneman(salman,akshay) and ouatimd(akshay,imran) with SRK’s movies instead of released with multiple actors akki couldn’t survive in front of THE KING,accept his success or not FACT will remain FACT.
final thing is successful stars are those who gave least flops,that’s why SRK is #1.

@sss a superstar duty is to give bumper openings.The only srk film which opened bumper is karan-arjun and that too he was the 2nd hero.MKTA opened better than kkhh.It is not about flops but a real superstar duty is to ensure bumper openings and if the film is gud it continue to become a bb

Last year srk gave a huge blkbuster he was himself the producer of the movie and at the time of shooting of ce he used 2 wait 4 deepika until she finishes her another movie’s shooting and join him he was that much free secondly he doesn’t had another work to do without promoting ce day night he promoted ce and spended 100cr only on pormotion if he is that much good actor why he was so much inscure and ouatimd was produced by ekta kapoor akshay could promot the film that much he was paid and he was not happy with the postpone of the release date of film bcz he wanted to release it on eid and give srk good fight But srk begged Jitendar to postpone the date of movie if he is good actor then why he got afraid of AK
