In 2012, Akshay Kumar delivered the biggest grosser of his career when Rowdy Rathore not only opened well at the box office, but went on to collect Rs 134 crore.
Since then, several films have had a chance of beating the lifetime total of Rowdy Rathore, but none have crossed the 134 crore mark – including Akshay’s last release of 2016 ‘Rustom’ which will finish with lifetime collections of around 127 crore.
While ‘Robot 2.0’ is certain to be his highest grosser, it’ll be interesting to see if his other films like ‘Jolly LLB 2’ and ‘Crack’ can surpass the total of Rowdy Rathore.

@Disaster Kumar openings are good for a non holiday. What about taking the thriller movie genre in 100 crores? SRK and Aamir even failed to do so with Fan & Talaash respectively.
Its a fact none off beat film before airlift and now rustom has gone forward that much.

According to BOI collection of Sultan and BB are similar….Gross collection of both the movie is 420cr….it’s the Net collection of Sultan which is felt short of 15cr from BB because the Entertainment Tax is high for Sultan….So those who are saying that Sultan did not cross BB will shut up now, because collection of both the films are same…..

“The GROSS business of Sultan and Bajrangi Bhaijaan is very alike at 420 crore apprx. The GROSS is the amount collected at ticket windows before applying entertainment tax. There will so many vague reasons given as to why Sultan remained below Bajrangi Bhaijaan but that is only in NETT collections. In real it has not really stayed below as the amount collected at the box office is similar. Just applying taxes gives it a NETT figure which is 15 crore short. The reason for a lower NETT figure is not in the music, canvas, action or romance but because of tax.
Delhi / UP is the main reason. Sultan grossed 91.64 crore in the circuit and the nett came to 60.62 crore while Bajrangi Bhaijaan grossed 92.45 crore and the nett came to 70.62 crore. Similar GROSS figures but 10 crore difference in NETT figures.”
