In 2012, Akshay Kumar delivered the biggest grosser of his career when Rowdy Rathore not only opened well at the box office, but went on to collect Rs 134 crore.
Since then, several films have had a chance of beating the lifetime total of Rowdy Rathore, but none have crossed the 134 crore mark – including Akshay’s last release of 2016 ‘Rustom’ which will finish with lifetime collections of around 127 crore.
While ‘Robot 2.0’ is certain to be his highest grosser, it’ll be interesting to see if his other films like ‘Jolly LLB 2’ and ‘Crack’ can surpass the total of Rowdy Rathore.

It doesn’t matter if it doesn’t break RR records. Without big banners and big director, one hit and two super hits is itself a big achievement.

you dont have to earn 200cr for a hit status if the budget is “low”. and all akshay films have lower budgets than other films. many people think that just because a movie earned 200cr that it is a hit or 300cr is a blockbuster. you have to understand the economics all aroung the film.
and last question: how many profitable movies has srk in 2016 so far?
Salman Khan gives most of 300cr, most of 200cr and most of 100cr.
But less articles than Akshay Kumar’s 100cr film.
In fear of Salman stardom, they are not promoting Salman. But promoting others.
all movies r either national holiday or post ipl(4th successful period) but he everytime failed to cross 140 cr.
he got opportunity of crossing 20cr. op. with sib ,holiday rel. + franchise(most people watch it as sequel of sik coz of same character and name of the movie ) + universal appeal (as they always cry niche genere -2 ) but he failed……….
he got the opportunity of doing 150 cr.+ with h3 ,post ipl period +succesful franchise + biggest release for akki +universal genere but he failed………..
and they cry edx ,edx ….. but one can’t desrve edx if he gives 3 flops in edx .lol
Thanks to dirty game that Rustom team has played it get mentioned in the list but couldn’t earn much at Box Office in fact collection is much much lower than what MohenjoDaro would collection if MohenjoDaro team played similar dirty game with Rustom team.

why you are considering robot 2 as a akshay kumar movie everyone will go to see rajnikanth not akhsay kumar if you say robot 2 is akshay kumar movie its like dhoom 3 was blockbuster because of abhishek and not aamir.
Rustom is biggest disaster without supports and creating negativity campaigns for MOHENJO DARO.

Akshya Kumari is very very crap actor of all time for me. I haven’t seen him giving any outstanding performance. In which movie he has given good performance ( for his standard ) are only ok ok type not that great. He is slightly overrated actor.
Sorry to say but some of his fans have think that he has done a great job by giving back to back 3 100 cr grosser in same year. But if you compare his all movies collection release in one year than that they are only equal to 1 movie of Salman’s film or aamir’s film. So, if aamir or salman also do similar 3-4 movies per year i am sure all their movies will at least cross 200 cr or even may be all movies will become 300 cr grosser in single year.

Fans of other stars degrade by using RR (134cr) still being his top grosser, whereas other superstars has easily reached 200 cr+. Fans of Akki claims he is the best as he does 4 successful movies in year that no other star does the same.
As per me reality is somewhere in between.

We r happy to see him in varied roles which we can cherish and even after 50 yrs ll ppl ll enjoy and don’t know who ll enjoy 200-300 cr den.
I feel akshayKumar fans are lucky to ve him as his idol..proud fan coz of him only 2day m a entirely self dependent person.
