One of the most entertaining (and exciting) actor-director combos is back again. The team of Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan, that have given us huge hits like Hera Pheri and Bhool Bhulaiya, will soon be working on another film together. Another great news is that Rohit Shetty will also be collaborating with them as a producer.
A source close to the project said “Priyadarshan is giving finishing touches to the script of his next Bollywood project and has already signed Akshay for it. This director-actor combination has tasted great commercial success and this is poised to be their eighth film together. It will be a big-budget affair with Rohit Shetty backing it.”
When Priyadarshan was contacted recently, he also said that, “The script has been finalised and rest of the casting is being discussed. It will be a musical comedy; my comeback after a two-year break from the Hindi film industry.”
When it comes to comedy films, after the David Dhawan – Govinda combo, it simply cannot get better than Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar. With the added advantage of Rohit Shetty’s backing, the untitled film is set to be the most keenly awaited film whenever it releases!

@Rohit lol, Rohit has more 100 crs than any director of recent. Am not saying he is beta but don’t underestimate the guy. He has directed Srk and Ajay,I can bet akki can’t break any of their opening day and lifetime with priyadarshan. As one of my srk mate once said Rohit does not do movies with non actors. So zyada uchal maat. After directing srk and ajay I know the next Rohit will direct shd be Salman Sir. Be happy Rohit name will atleast boost Akki collections to a certain limit.
@sss have you lost it? What’s the hatred for. You forgot Yash and Srk or Prakash jha and Ajay. Plus Rohit and Ajay has been super successful. Any of their combo of recent is a guaranteed 100 crs.
