Akshay Kumar – Paresh Rawal ditch Hera Pheri 4?

Here’s some shocking and very disappointing news for Hera Pheri fans.

The icons of Hera Pheri, Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar have opted out of Feroz Nadiadwala’s Hera Pheri 4, to be directed by Anees Bazmee (Welcome, No Entry, Singh Is King).

And what’s more, according to sources Akshay has been replaced by Sanjay Dutt to play the role of Raju and Nana Patekar replaces Paresh Rawal as Baburao Ganpatrao Apte.

“Both actors have lost interest in the project and have made it clear they have no interest in coming together for yet another `Hera Pheri` film. Producer Firoz Nadiadwala delayed the film in the hope that he would be able to convince them to stay on, but now he has no choice but to go ahead with different actors.” says a source.

Others say it was due to the lack of dates. Either way, this is hugely disappointing.

Update: Firoz Nadiadwala has rubbished the rumour “This is completely untrue and baseless. The script has shaped up really well and we are planning to go ahead with it in coming months. We never make announcements, it’s just a matter of time before we actually start shooting.”
