Akshay Kumar offers to return half his OUATIMD acting fee

Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara hasn’t exactly set the cash registers ringing at the box office, but Akshay Kumar was gracious enough to call his producer Ekta Kapoor and even offered to return half his acting fee to cover up for the losses that the film has incurred.

DNA India quotes an industry insider as saying “Akshay, who is currently shooting in Bangkok (for TIPS film It’s Entertainment), called her two days ago and graciously offered to return half of his remuneration to cover up for the losses she incurred over OUATIMD. Ekta was touched with his offer but declined, saying she didn’t want money back but she wanted to do another film with him.”

Akshay agreed to do the film and the two are likely to work together soon.

A local daily had recently reported that Ekta wasn’t too pleased with Akshay’s ‘lack of interest’ in the pre-release campaign. Apparently, the actor didn’t allot as many days for the film’s promotions as Ekta would have liked.

Well, all’s well that ends well. Here’s wishing both Ekta and Akshay better luck with their second film together!

  • All actors have super hit films and flop ones at the BO.. but would never affect their fame and being loved by the audience.. Akshay is like Salmam.. He’s one of the top actors but am really sorry that the audience didnt enjoy this film.. but I did and want to see it again at cinema.. found it interesting with a good direction.. and the 2 films which ppl liked and enjoyed YJHD with CE I found them some pastime films and don’t want to see them again.. Akshay wl do and do good films and it doesn’t mater at all if this film did t work at the box office but still.. This film was loved by many audience and that’s which is important.. as long as he got audience who loved his film and found it a good piece of work so,, be happy Akshay, Ekta.. u did a good job together

  • Dear Akki, OUATIMD was a great movie. This movie didnt did that much well because of Balaji’s decision to postpone the film from Eid. OUATIMD is out n out muslim story and Eid was the perfect release for it. Never ever work with small and weak producers like Balaji. they are the reason for the failure. Why the hell did they postponed the movie?

  • Movie is good..but the script is very confusing it keeps shifting focus from luv story to gangster story…thuough one time watchabe….but milan luthria got confused this time..
