Here is some great news, something that would not just delight his fans but also some of his critics.
Akshay Kumar, who has only been a part of comedies in the last 2 years or so, is more or less confirmed to play the lead role in Rajkumar Santoshi’s next! And no, it will not be a comedy like Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.
According to reliable sources, Santoshi has been planning a film based on Asghar Wajahat’s play Jis Lahore Nahin Dekhya, for a long time now. And the film with the same title was reportedly offered to several actors like Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan and Sunny Deol. None were too keen on signing the film, so when Santoshi offered it to Akshay Kumar, he was more than willing to be a part of the project.
Once Akshay signs on the dotted line, the film is expected to go on floors immediately.

The script must be bad. I remember same thing happened with Rakesh Mehra after Rang de basanti. Noone signed Delhi 6 and after release we know why.

i think it will be a non commercial movie – the reason why others rejected while AKKI who is doing mostly commercial cinema decided to do it . it would be great , i loved almost all the movies made by Raj kumar santoshi . it wd be great combo . hope it works big time

you know it wll be surprsing but few days back i was thinking that AKKI has his production house why doesnt he approach Raj kumar santoshi to make a film with him because he has been at the receiving end for doing just comedy for quite sometime and he himself told in an interview if being in film industry u doesnt get to work with Priyadarshan and Raj kumar santoshi then u r missing something and u broke this news to me . i mean if it materialiazes it wd be great
