Ajay Devgn has reshuffled the release dates of all his upcoming films, as his ambitious directorial venture ‘Shivaay’ was postponed due to shooting difficulties.
Meanwhile, the actor has signed two films, one of which could release in 2015 itself. Ajay will start shooting for the remake of acclaimed Malayalam film ‘Drishyam’ in the second half of this month. The film will be directed by Nishikant Kamat, who last directed John Abraham in ‘Force’.
Announcing the film, Ajit Andhare of Viacom18 Motion Pictures said “Drishyam is an iconic film that keeps you intrigued long after you have watched it. Its box office record in South is stellar with lead role essayed by legends like Mohanlal and Kamal Hassan. Viacom18 Motion Pictures shares a special bond with Ajay, through our last film Son of Sardaar. With Drishyam we are bringing strong content and top acting prowess together and we are looking to set a new record for the studio with this film that will be our tent pole for 2015. Our past ventures like Omkara, Special 26, Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge were high on content and Drishyam will be no different”
Soon after wrapping up the shooting schedule of ‘Drishyam’, Ajay will start shooting for Milan Luthria’s ‘Baadshaho’. The film could release in June 2016, two months before its scheduled date.
‘Shivaay’ has been postponed indefinitely. The film will go on floors in the second half of October, but a new release date hasn’t been announced.
It’s amazing how some actors sign movies so quickly, complete and release it. Can’t believe Ajay will now have a movie release in 2015 itself.

I’ve seen this movie and it was awesome . It’s a Malayalam film not the typical masala film from Telugu and Tamil..And Mohanlal is the best natural actor in India.Hope the Bollywood version will turn out better. Good luck Ajay.

Delaying Shivaay is good news! Its his biggest directorial ventures…I mean Nicole Kidman and J.Lopez name to b even mentioned(let’s say critics as usual will say its a dream and not true) is something worth looking forward too! By d way its very true esp from Kidman’s camp that she will feature…and that will b a real power pack stars movie!!…as both d celebs r huge n multi-talented stars in their respective countries! Devgn Sir Both Indians and even Africans r with u n wish u best of luck!!
Drishyam is a great film. It’s story can be told in as many remakes. Can’t say if Ajay could be a perfect choice, but he could carry the movie on his shoulders. Atleast, this film is not a typical masala south Indian film, it’s rather an intriguing Suspense-Thriller which is pretty much new for Ajay in a long time. Look forward to it!
BTW, the statement given by Viacom 18 says record made in Southern states. LOL doesn’t he know that Kamal Haasan’s remake is yet to be completed and released? ROFL.

Waiting for Ajay upcoming films Drashyam,baadshahon,shivay.Though dhrashyam is also a south remake but its name is sound different and hope Ajay won’t disappoint.
After than Baadshaho, ouatim team back again and I hope Ajay will give a stand out performance with that movie.
Shivay is most riskiest project for Ajay, as Ajay is director and lead actor of both film.

@babaji what made you think that Aamir’s film will release this year, and why you want srk-rohit on Christmas, want to see how srk perform on Christmas.4th DEC won’t be a good release for any film yes 26th Jan would be great as Aamir had given the best film on republic day RDB 9 years ago.
@sheheer lol you mean to say Most of Akki-Priyadarshan film were Malayalam remake though I knew about Hera Pheri,bhool bhulaiya,khatta meetha but don’t had any idea about DDD,Bhagam Bhag,Dhol,Garam Masala etc were remake.
After loosing more than 40 cr. in Action Jackson, Eros is not interested to churn money on Shivaay. Who’s landing cost is around 130 cr. So, Sivaay is shelved indefinately unless Ajay Devgn get another producer or spend own money( which is very unlikely). Drishyam is a great movie, unlike most south remake. But have very less chance to big money spinner.
As i heard, Ajay and akshay both cut big on they payment. IMO, Akshay, ajay and saif are most overpayed actors. Their last could of movies even could not manage to get acting salary in full theatrical run.
Hoping Milan and Ajays next is as good as their previous project together.
As for Ajays directorial next- not looking forward to it but when it comes then it will be interesting to see its trailer before deciding to watch it or not. Some actors are not cut out for directing so heres hoping Ajay proves me wrong after his last effort which honestly was not that good.
