Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has said that the story of massive evacuation of Indians from invaded Kuwait in 1990, which is the story of his upcoming film ‘Airlift’, should be in textbooks for students to learn and understand.
“If you browse through World Guinness Book of Records, the biggest air evacuation was done by our beloved country, India. And this is why I selected to do this subject as I wanted to bring it in front of everybody” Akshay said at the Vaayu festival of NMIMS College.
“I’ve always made a request that this big chapter should be there in our textbooks; It’s a very important chapter. We all know what Shah Jahan and Akbar did, but at least write what we have done” he said.
“This is a real story of what happened to 1,70,000 Indians staying in Kuwait when Saddaam Hussein had attacked Kuwait in 1990 and they (Indians) didn’t know where to go, what to do. These kinds of things have been hidden and there are political reasons why it was hidden” Akshay added.
Talking about his film ‘Airlift’, Akshay said the film would make every Indian proud.
“It’s a very special movie. Do go and watch the film and you’ll feel proud to be an Indian”

As an Indian, I will watch Airlift at theater just because of it is related to my motherland plus akhshay kumar ..
Since 2012 Akshay has improved his choices . In 2012 he did OMG and also produced the movie . In 2013 he did Special 26 . In 2014 he did Holiday . In 2015 he did Baby and now in 2016 he will come with Airlift . These choices are making Akki a brilliant actor and people are taking notice of it . He just needs to avoid movies like Joker, Khiladi 786, OUATIMD, Entertainment and SIB . He can do movies like RR, Housefull 2 and GIB once in a while . He did many crap movies from 2009 to 2011 and most of them were Flops . The teaser was absolutely classic and now i am waiting to see the trailer . I completely agree with him that we need this chapter in History Textbooks so that the students know what actually happened and they will take pride in being an Indian . Kudos to Akshay, Raja Krishna Menon and Nikhil Advani for taking a huge initiative and for making a movie which will redefine the word – Patriotism . Akshay played a Army officer in Holiday who wants to eliminate Sleeper Cells . Akshay played a Secret Agent in Baby who wants to finish terrorism and he can do anything for the sake of his country . He doesn’t want to die but he wants to live so that he can fight till his last breath . Akshay played a Vigilante in Gabbar Is Back who has a mission to eliminate Corruption from India . Akshay will play a wealthy businessman in Airlift who lives in Kuwait with his family and then helps 1,70,000 Indians to reach India safely . Akshay is slowly becoming the modern version of Manoj Kumar and i am absolutely loving it . Cheers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another massive pleading for his movie to be watched to surpass Varun last movie and upcoming movie. In 1 year Varun 1 100 crs and 1 200crs after Dilwale release. Desperate Akshay why telling us the plot leave it on suspense. We know about that massive excavation pls. If we go to guiness book then we know the whole story of the movie. So chill yaar. If its good expect your movie to cross 100 crs. Shocking uptil now only 3 100 crs with jnr bachaan and Ritesh.

Azhar Biopic , Raaz 4 and Airlift are much awaited films… But i don’t see airlift doing much business.. It will be average grosser at box office..

Akki has som important line ups. I trust him he is going to do a good job. I am a fan of good movies and good actors I think outside the Khans, Akshay Ajay and Hritik are still the big deal superstars whom their fans always expect high numbers at box office and why not? They have done it before Hritik only non Khan in 200 cr club. Ajay the 1st non Khan actor to gross 2 100 crs even before my King. Then you have Akshay the risk taker in chief! 1st actor to cross 2000 crs at box office. if you think what Akshay is doing is easy and still not enough 100 crs then think again! No sentiment in my comments today. Straight from my heart. I think we Khans should acknowledge and give more credit to actors like Akshay is it 95 movies? Ajay 83?
