Akshay Kumar’s Airlift is on course to become the first HIT of 2016, as the film could recover costs by the end of its first week at the box office. The Raja Menon directed film has collected Rs 44.3 crore in its first weekend, showing excellent trends both on Saturday and Sunday.
Not only is Airlift performing well at multiplexes in big cities, but even mass centres like Rajasthan, C.I, C.P and Bihar have shown reasonably good growth over the weekend. Even down south the film has grown phenomenally during the weekend.
Monday is a working day, but business should begin to pick-up evening onwards at multiplexes as tomorrow is a holiday for Republic Day.
The makers of the film couldn’t have chosen a better date to release, as Airlift would be a perfect Republic Day outing for the family. If the hold on Monday is strong, Tuesday could be as big as Sunday at the box office.

The story is known by everybody now which is a cinematic conversion on celluloids.
The films is thoroughly engaging, the fear and the environment of attackes in Kuwait is beautifully picturized with excellent performance from every one.
The heroic moment are less so us laughter moment but they are extremely real kind of presentation.
Full marks to director and all other technical department for making a real cinema which shows that what is actual heroism not what we movie goers used to see on screen because of our superstars without a reasonable story behind it.
Nimrat kaur was outstanding in her role, so as all the supporting characters whom real name I don’t know but want yo identify with character Josaf,Bagdadi command or,Sanjeev arora name a few.
Akshay Kumar was the soul of the film and his character in the movie was far different than we usually see in films. Very well written,he underplayed his character equally well. Excellent performance from him.
The best scene of the film is the ones when Indian flag raised on Indian embassy in Aman which gives the feeling about the great country we live in. If you want to see the environment we live in this country what the film that how the Kuwaities goes through so as many other countries even now. We are living a far superior environment. I am proud that despite having power we Indians,over government and Soldiers never did that kind of treatment to our neighbourhood and enemies.
The film belong to the real heroes who were behind the biggest evacuation plan.
Giving ratings to movie like airlift is insult to the Real heroes for whom the films is a tribute for.
My strong recommendation to every one to watch the film. I don’t care boxoffice when come to this movie but have instant feeling that Airlift will cross Rowdy Rathore trade figure, Deserves to Akshay Kumar career highest grosser because it is undoubtedly best film of Akshay Kumar in this decade and he himself is the best actor of this decade for me as he associated with 5 great films in the decade so far. Airlift is best among them.
Many people may like baby more than Airlift but for me Airlift is better. The earlier one was fake and imaginary story while this belong to reality.
Now expecting our superstars to make films for real heroes instead of showing fake heroism in movies like Dabangg,Dhoom,Bang-2,Dilwale,rowdy rathore etc and try to do films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan,Airlift,Pk,Omg etc. Even Singham etc is also something to cheer for.
First Bajirao Mastani outdone Bahubali for me, Airlift outdone Baby. Eagerly waiting for biopic of Mahaveer phogat I.e. Dangal. Cinema on reality is slowly-2 attracting me now a days.

Airlift has had an super strong hold on Monday as collections should surpass 9 crore nett and with the evening collections which will be strong due to the next day being a national holiday it may even hit the 10 crore nett mark.
The collections in mass centres are similar to Friday morning (better at places as they did not open or do that well over the weekend) but more crucially the drop in big cities is minimal and in these places it had strong weekend and the drop in ticket prices also comes into play.
If the evening collections come in as expected it will be a 10% drop on Monday for the film and it may turn out a 10 crore nett Monday which would be a first for an Akshay Kumar starrer..
