Akshay Kumar’s Airlift has shown phenomenal growth on Day 2 at the domestic box office. Like we reported in our box office report yesterday, the morning shows on Saturday were up by around 10% and the upward trend continued through the day.
Cities are performing very well and even mass centres performed better on Saturday as compared to Friday. The word-of-mouth is excellent, which should help the film take advantage of two holidays – one on Sunday and other for Republic Day on Tuesday.
Sunday Update: As expected, morning shows on Sunday are better than both Friday and Saturday. A film like Baby last year, showed growth of 40% on Sunday. Airlift is performing at a higher level, so growth of around 20% or more is a possibility. The film is now looking at weekend business of 43-44 crore and Monday should hold well too because Tuesday is national holiday.

Aamir yes with others support does well occasionally … Just because Sehwag had a 300 plus once and Rohit Sharma had a double century does not make them better than Sachin ..,, Dravid has no records as such but was anyways more reliable than Sehwag … Don’t harp so much on 5 movies in 27 years…

Aamir is such a sly guy that he secretly even enjoyed SRK – Salman rivalry… He was burned when they became friends… Was so happy when Salman was cold towards SRK … Most insecure actor..

Noon shows are 90 percent or more in big cities … Airlift is also picking up in interiors today…if that sustains then it is unstoppable … Given the genre and title of film interiors were always a challenge but finally wom is showing results… In interiors such movies tend to do better once wom reaches there as print media usually reports after a day… Akki pulled off this movie… Imagine a mass movie like hf3 … Will create records

Airlift is one of the better movies made in Bollywood since the last decade , could cross 120+ crores but again as I had already said we shouldn’t measure this movie’s worth w.r.to its BO collections , this movie is beyond BO collections.

Watched Airlift!!! Forget collections, its the feeling that the movie gives!! A movie worth watching for every Indian. The proudest moment relives in every scene. Akshay Kumar, you are the gem and soul of the movie. Hats off to you Sir! Mr. Menon, we can just thank you for such a movie and the feeling after watching it.
